A playground pastime is getting a timeout this spring at a McLean elementary school.
Robyn Hooker, principal of Kent Gardens Elementary School, has told students they may no longer play tag during recess after determining that the game of chasing, dodging and yelling "You're it!" had gotten out of hand. Hooker explained to parents in a letter this month that tag had become a game "of intense aggression."
The principal said that her goal is to keep students safe and that she hopes to restore tag (as well as touch football, also now on hold) after teachers and administrators review recess policies.

This is *exactly* why female principals are a mistake.

That’s becasue they realized you were an uncoordinated klutz! :-)
And this is why they aren’t allowed to stand to pee any more....

That is what the problem is in this case. Tag is one thing, slamming kids to the ground is another. As is grabbing them by the extremities or the neck to effect a fall.
Of course, dog piling is only allowed in bath houses these days.
Seems silly to clamp down on a cardio activity while kids are getting more and more obese (or so we hear).
Maybe it’s easier to do “other” things if you can keep them from running....if you know what I mean.
It stinks, that’s all.
That was one of our all time favorites as kids!
Everything that is not forbidden is mandatory. (Or is it the other way around?)
