QUOTE OF THE DAY
Statement by the President and Mrs. Bush

April 16, 2007, brought the deadliest day of violence on a college campus in our Nation's history. The horrific crimes committed at Virginia Tech filled our souls with sadness. One year later, we remember the victims murdered and wounded that day.

We join our fellow Americans in praying for the families and friends whose hearts ache for their lost loved ones. We continue to be amazed by the extraordinary Hokie spirit and inspired by the survivors of this tragedy. Students, teachers, and alumni have overcome evil with good by supporting each other with love and compassion. We are humbled by their resilience and confident in the University's bright future.

We pray that God will continue to comfort and heal the people of the Virginia Tech community

It seems that President Bush's goodness, when near the goodness of the Pope, creates an even brighter glow of goodness on W's face.

Our Pres looks like he's beaming with the energy goodness creates.

Great Dose, snugs! Thank you.

A truly momentous event, when the US President
goes to the airport to greet a visiting dignitary,
and I’m SO impressed and happy that he did this
for dear Pope Benedict XVI.

They both look so happy to see each other. God
bless and protect the Pope on his important visit.

And thank you for the cute washing machine picture.
It sure is different ........... ;)

TOMORROW’S WELCOME CEREMONY
Begins at 10 AM

Anita McBride:
“They will also welcome him to the White House at a formal arrival ceremony tomorrow morning. This event will include many elements of a traditional arrival ceremony, such as a performance by the Army’s Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps. We have also chosen some musical selections especially for the Holy Father, including “The Lord’s Prayer,” sung by vocalist Kathleen Battle, and “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” sung by the Army Chorus.

After the ceremony ends, President and Mrs. Bush will escort the Pope to a meeting with some of their family members in the Blue Room. The President will then welcome the Holy Father to the Oval Office for a private meeting.”

HEADS UP . . .

LAURA BUSH GETS AN HOUR AS GUEST HOST ON ‘TODAY’ SHOW

NEW YORK (AP) - First lady Laura Bush will be “guest host” for an hour of NBC’s “Today” show next week.

The network said she’ll host the 9 a.m. EDT hour April 22, the morning of the Pennsylvania primary. By that time in the four-hour morning show, politics is usually set aside for issues that affect women, who make up the majority of the audience during that time period.

Mrs. Bush will participate in several segments and interviews, NBC said Tuesday.

She will be joined earlier in the broadcast by her daughter Jenna to talk about their new children’s book, “Read All About It!”

The first lady will also give Ann Curry a tour of the Bush family ranch in Crawford, Texas.
