Russia renews warning to EU over Kosovo

Russia warned the European Union on Tuesday against any attempt to deploy its police and justice mission in areas of Kosovo populated by the Serb minority. The Russian ambassador to the EU, Vladimir Chizhov, insisted the 27-nation bloc had no legal mandate to replace the United Nations civilian administration in Kosovo and said any such move would require the agreement of Serbia... Russia used its U.N. Security Council veto to prevent any resolution legitimising the secession or the EU role in the breakaway Serbian province... The only way forward was through dialogue with the local Serb community and a new political negotiation between Belgrade and Pristina, Chizhov added. UNMIK police and NATO troops used force last month to remove Serbian nationalist protesters who had occupied a U.N. court in the northern part of the divided city of Mitrovica, triggering riots in which a Ukrainian U.N. police officer was killed... Asked what Russia would do if the EU went ahead with deployment of EULEX across Kosovo, he said: "We will certainly use every possibility at the United Nations to attract the attention of the international community to any violation of resolution 1244 by whomever."

Putin's visit to Libya would be a great opportunity to wipe two tinpot enemy dictators off the face of the Earth. Just an idea, okay?

Possible bug in the new software — old-style topics yield “No such file (give_legacy_article)” messages.

As much as I despise Putin I side with him on Kosovo. Turning that country over to muslims is a disgrace and furthers the aim of islam. World domination.

The Russians are right on this one. OBL wants an independent KosovO, therefore I'm against it and with the Russians.

Impotent barbarians...

Do you intentionally make stupid comments, or, does it just happen by accident - just wondering?

I have to agree with Putin against the globalists on this one. We sacrificed a proud Christian country to placate the muslim Albanians and too strengthen the E.U. and Nato’s hold on the Balkans. Russia role as a defender of Slavic Orthodox Christians in the Balkins goes back centuries and I wish that Putin would do even more to protect Serbia this time around.

In other words they are going to actually expect us to follow the agreement that we reached with Serbia in order to get Milosevic to pull out his troops. How barbaric that they are going to actually hold us to our word. Don’t they know that treaty is just a little scrap of paper / s.

As soon as Russia pays France about $600 billion on defaulted Czarist bonds, and oh I don't know, how about $10 trillion as an indemnity for the 100 million people murdered in the name of communism, it can read us lectures on the value of one's word. Until then, Russians remain impotent barbarians, and anyone who succeeds in stealing anything from them isn't a hundredth of the way to fair payback.

Yup. The Russians are getting managed, just as they were during the Reagan administration. The difference now is, crude is over $100 a barrel.
