Well put. I carry daily, but I'm totally put off by macho idiots who insist that they're ready for the ---- to come down. I'm not. I'm as prepared as I can be, but I'm well grounded in the knowledge that sometimes the good guys lose, even when they're armed.
Agree 100%...... As a retired serviceman and former deputy I understand that there are folks that prey on others. I carry for the protection of me and mine. With that in mind I am obligated to walk away from heated aggressive arguments to deescalate a situation if at all possible. A last resort , no way to run away from a threat, no way too let the threat depart, no cover available and all other options eliminated I will shoot too stop the threat if at all possible.
