In response to a direct and clear question from Charlie Gibson, Hillary Clinton said tonight that she would withdraw military forces from Iraq no matter the circumstances on the ground, even against the advice of her military leaders.
She was clear and unequivocal.
That’s why she will never be president.
You’d have to be a fool to think Hillary would get us out of Iraq. She’s playing to people’s emotions and the public here. Let’s face it, she might be on a different team than Bush and Co, but she plays in the same league. Same is true for Obama.
Niether of these two’s arguments is a winning argument in the general...more popcorn
Hillary is dangerous. So is Obama.
Done, like a dinner.
That dumb smarmy b!tch has spent the last 10 minutes spewing lies. The slick Magic Negroe is dodging very well.
Strikes me as an odd time for a lurch to the left. I wonder what numbers she’s seen?
Is there a link to debate transcript? Is going to be repeated on any channel? Anyone know?
Thanks in advance.
She and her fans consider her to be more of a man than the top commanders. That’s no surprise. And if she were commander-in-chief, many others like her would pose. But she would make a really bad joke of our defense.
You have what this thread needs.
HEY... Some of you folks in the east need back off on some of that popcorn, you’re starving us out over here. ;>)
Yeah! I thought ARC had her up by 20+ points? /s
ABC carried it, but it might be regional.
I am not at all sure that’s true for Obama.
"Why do you have to break this company Gordon?!!"
"Because it's breakable!!!"
Charlie Sheen/ Michael Douglas in Wall Street.
Yes, but SHE LIES. There is no way of determining from what she says what she would do. Remember that good old standby - I didn't have all the facts until I got elected and was privy to all the info, yada, yada, yada.
Can't believe ANYTHING ANY of them say to secure your vote, especially a Clinton. Check the past performances of all of them and make a guesstimate on what any will do based on that. Ignore ALL the promises, statements, etc., during the campaign.
she’ll bring on the flame deluge, sure as shootin’.
She changes her positions more than John Kerry.
Give it a break Hill, anyone with a brain knows a panderer when they see one.
Oh and if you want to do better in the primaries left try to stifle your moron husband, try sending him on special assignment to Luxembourg or something.
Idiots.
They just don’t understand what President Bush is trying to do in Iraq and how important it is for us to have long-term (not permanent) military bases located in the midst of the Middle East to influence both our friends and enemies.
Wouldn't it be nice if having a brain was a prerequisite to being able to vote these days?
Keep digging your own political grave, Hillary....F*** you
If IQ tests were required to vote the Democrats could fit every party member in here.
We will be leaving Iraq and immediately heading to Darfur to stop the genocide in that country and support and Sudan to install his relatives into power there.
In the last couple of weeks, both Clinton and Obama have stated they couldn’t pull troops out right away. Let’s face it, the WOT is looking rather successful right now. The Democrats don’t want another McGovern on their hands running into November.
Hillary and Obama are abysmal. I’m not convinced they would execute the former policy statements regarding the war. Those statements got them here, but they won’t get them from here into the White House.
Nope, she will never be president because she is not likable. She is not the kind of person the American public will relate to and trust with the unknown decision of the next four years.
Hillary knows everything!
Ummm, in the case you were unaware, Free Republic is a "drug free" Internet zone.
Thanks for the help. I modified my search to include ABC and found some video snippets as well as transcripts:

I’ve always said that I wouldn’t vote for somebody that I wouldn’t have over for dinner.Bush for all his falts would be welcome.Sadly this year I can say that NONE of these 3 bums would ever get to my dining room without a court order.
Whether one believes what she says or not, would she face down the Congress and the overwhelming majority in her party, plus the Republican RINO’s, when they started to clamor for a pull-out? The political pressure would force Hillary or Obama to pull out, no matter what leaks they issue from advisers who say they wouldn’t.
‘We will be leaving Iraq and immediately heading to Darfur...’
I, too, wonder why sending help to Iraq is not a good thing, but, it’s ok to help Dafur.....hmmmm???
God help us if one of these two is elected.
she’s out.
I've noticed that McCain seems to be spending a lot of time learning from President Bush about the big issues. Obviously, McCain will never be blessed with President Bush's natural genius or abilities, but he will always be able to go back to President Bush for advice.
“Clear and unequivocal” is the middle stage between “What should I stay that will get me elected” and “I mis-spoke”. The only real question is how long we’ll stay in stage two before we get to stage three. I have 29 hours in the pool on this one.
I watched the hearing with Petraeus. I swear she was against a precipitous withdral from Iraq. If this is the case, who is she listening to? One of those Magic 8 ball things that you shake up to get an answer?
T’hey just dont understand what President Bush is trying to do in Iraq...”
Unfortunately a lot of that is W’s fault.
Damn, I never heard that. Guess this pot smoking conservative should move on....
“Unfortunately a lot of that is Ws fault.”
Both Hillary and to a lesser degree Obama articulated reasons for the withdrawal premised on the Iraqi government’s failure to meet targets, that is, primarily, an oil sharing agreement.
Bush’s “hands off” policy has much to do with this open wound that has lasted to long.
I remember Powell talking about it, saying we should have “imposed our will”, decoded- Bush’s fantasy that the Iraqis would work together without sticks was wrong.
Shaking my head again here.
If either of these Bozo’s get elected each of us better plan on stock piling some fuel because the minute we leave Iraq Iran will close the Strait of Hormuz and no more oil will flow from anywhere.
No, that was last year.
Tonight she was complaining that he does listen to the military leadership.
Countdown to Rush tomorrow!
Say one thing and do another..The old communist tactic...
Can’t be trusted = can’t be elected.
That's a first for a Clinton.
From NBC's Mark Murray
A statement from Obama campaign manager David Plouffe:
Tonight we saw a real choice between the old politics of point-scoring and distraction and a politics that focuses on bringing us together to actually solve the challenges we talk about every single election.
Continuing the theme of her campaign, Senator Clinton used every single opportunity she had to launch misleading attack after misleading attack against Barack Obama, which is why polls show that most Americans think shes running the most negative campaign and dont believe shes trustworthy.
Barack Obama spoke about the issues that actually matter in peoples lives, like how he plans to end the war in Iraq, cut middle-class taxes, help people stay in their homes, and provide a secure retirement for our seniors. Thats why more Americans are putting their trust in Barack Obama to bring about the change we need in Washington."
I'm on the left coast and do not plan to watch. I have far better things to do with my time.
I hope the Witch got creamed . . .
She flip-flops better than Kerry.
she is worse. she needs to lose the nomination.
and besides her agenda is socialistic. No thanks. I’ll be glad to be rid of the clintins. She may try to run in another four years but hey....she’ll be worse then
I personally, like the questions to Clinton that 6 out of 10 voters in Pen. don't believe Clinton is honest.
My comment is that she lies and had not qualms about telling the truth.
