"...We had one totally recognizable environmentalist from Hollywood say this is everything they ever had hoped for," Bell said. "This could be considered the ultimate recycling of carbon. We are using the energy of the sun through the plant. We're not introducing any new carbon [to the environment]."
One of the most asinine statements ever printed. Where does he think that the Carbon in oil came from originally?
It's ancient sunshine folks!

Here is a revolutionary thought:
Why not just drill for oil? There is plenty of it.

The MSM is not interested in any solution to energy shortages that does not end with the US massively subsidizing the rest of the World and all of us shivering in the dark.

Actually many companies have been working on using modified bacteria to turn waste into a refining feed stock. Notice I said “feedstock” as what most of the processes do is produce a hydrocarbon mixture that would have to be refined in some way to make fuels.
Making oil has never been a problem, making it economically has and that is where all the processes must succeed. No one questions the process, it works, simple chemistry, but whether it can brought to the market and compete is the real question. Unanswered question, that is.

(This election is like running in the Special Olympics. Even if McCain wins, weÂ’re still retarded.)
