Gov. Bill Ritter said Tuesday his campaign violated campaign finance laws and improperly paid about $217,000 to 28 vendors in expenses last year.

He said his campaign and inaugural committee chairman, Greg Kolomitz, also overpaid himself and his company $83,250 out of Ritter's inaugural account.

Ritter said he reported the violations to Secretary of State Mike Coffman, Attorney General John Suthers and Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey.

According to a financial audit conducted after irregularities were discovered, the inaugural committee raised $1.2 million from private donations and the sale of tickets and there was only $69.06 left in the account.

Colorado has an incredibly stupid governor. Now he has to put his home up as collateral to pay a fine? And this man used to be Denver DA's before being elected Governor. The difference is, he knew what the law was. The rest of us mortals get the benefit of the doubt. Ritter has set by his conduct, a poor example for the citizens of our state.

I wonder if the DA’s office will investigate this as aggressively as they investigated Corey Voorhis? (Corey was acquited by the way!)

So, um, which Political Party might this Governor Ritter be a member of? Surely not a Republican, or it would have said in the opening sentence!

A Democrat. The MSM always mentions party affiliation first when someone accused is a Republican.

Ritter is a typical rat. The law does not apply to him except when he is caught.

His behavior as the Denver DA was despicable with the usage of agricultural trespassing (a misdeamoner) to avoid deportation of illegal alien criminals. He sought political retribution against ICE agent Cory Vorhees for leaking information about the usage of agricultural trespassing. Fortunately, Vorhees was acquited last week. Ritter tried to portray himself as the victim.

Ritter is an absolute ideologue on the alternative energy. He has appointed hard leftists to the public utilities commission. Ritter wants much higher priced electricity produced by wind and solar.

As DA, Ritter the RAT plead down over 150 charges against illegal immigrants to Agricultural Trespass. The one case that Cory Voorhis exposed was a Mexican citizen caught smuggling heroin. The charges were plead down to Ag Trespass and the smuggler was released. This drug smuggler later raped a 15 year old girl in California. Cory exposed this case because Ritter was running for Colorado governor and portraying himself as a tough on crime and tough on illegal immigration former DA.

When these clowns (Ritter included) are running for office, don't they advertise themselves as the best and the brightest.
