Sometimes I wonder if America can continue to govern itself as a free nation endowed with certain unalienable rights by its Creator.
Too many Americans, including some with great minds, have lost their bearings lots all perspective on right and wrong, good and evil.
This is not, as some believe, a relativist mental disorder afflicting and spreading through only the so-called "progressive" camp of the political spectrum. Even some on the other side of the ideological line can no longer distinguish between black and white, up and down, right and left.
Take, for instance, Lew Rockwell a man for whom I once had enormous respect.
He has gone over to the dark side. There's simply no other way to say it. I don't know how else to characterize his worldview metamorphosis.
Recently he wrote: "Once again, Ron is the only man in the House of Unrepresentatives not to take the pro-war, CIA line. He refuses to do what is constitutionally none of the U.S. government's business: intervene in China. He is also keenly aware of the irony of a murderous empire that has killed 1 million civilians in Iraq alone, in order to maintain its subjugation, criticizing anyone else."

Thats what governments do, is .... alienate rights..
Unalienable right can only be guaranteed by God..
No GOD.. then All rights are merely permissions by gov't..
If the American gov't pulls God's green card.. then all rights become a joke..
God seems to an illegal alien in America these days..

I don’t wonder at all. I literally consider the US to be a “Dead country walking”.
It's one thing when government ignores 'rights' and another when the people you must interact with daily do also.
Meanness seems to have replaced kindness in so much of our public life- nature abhoring a vacuum and all that. Talk on a cell phone/ forget your seatbelt and get mugged by a cop.
Go to an ATM at night and get mugged by a thug (the original muggers but alas, good gigs will not endure competition indefinately).
I'm beginning to think the cultists and others who have withdrawn from our society may be on to something. Aside from sex with little girls (which is sick on any level and worthy of baseball-bat-action) if a group followed the wisdom of our Founders it might be just the place to park a trailer.
People came to this country seeking it's freedom and opportunity. Today, it seems just to escape poverty (well, the opportunity thing is still working, I guess).
Will libs one day argue that the Constitution and the rights it bestows is illegitamate based on their belief that there is no God?
You're not alone.
