The Pope never attended a meeting and as I understand it, he had an Uncle or Cousin or some relative fill out the requisite paper work for him at the time.

I watched HBO and Bill Maher tonight and was even more offended by his non apology and his ignoramus guests.
I have not had respect for Maher for years and even less so after his last arrogant stunt.

You touch on something that I have long wondered. I don’t think everyone on the left is vile. Some folks were born Democrats and they’ve never changed ranks. What baffles me, is don’t they have moments when the hear what the left is doing, and have that come to Jesus moment, where they can’t swollow what the left is peddling any longer? It sure doesn’t look like it.
I have seriously had it with regard to the Republican party. I simply cannot support where it is headed any longer. Don’t other people have their fill too with regard to the Democrats? I sure don’t see it.

Bill Maher is as pretentious as they come. He characterizes himself as “politically incorrect” then proceeds to “satirize” safe, out of date targets like “neo-nazis” or the Klu Klux Klan. When he’s really feeling reckless he could always blame a bridge collapse on Bush.
But there comes a time when even a no talent , unimaginative “satirst” just keeps getting lamer and lamer. Now he’s a desperate man in on a frantic mission and comes up with a plan! After a full day of rehearsal he’s got it down. The new Bill Maher strides to state center and .......... CALLS THE POPE A NAZI! Wow he must think that he has really outdone himself now! Only you could have gotten at least as good “shock jock” stuff as that anyday last year by tuning in to Rosie O’Donnell (before her audience got bored silly with her).
Lenny Bruce had talent and craft. He talked about some tactics of last resort for no-talent comedians: walk out on the stage with your fly open, pick your nose, make fun of someone’s name, etc. In a skit the end of the line for one guy like that comes when he performs at the Palladium in London and can’t get a laugh. Out of frustration he starts yelling “Screw the Irish” at his audience and to his horror a race riot ensues. At the end he’s throwing up in the toilet and the manager is trying to find a way to sneak him out of the country.

Fox radio played a clip from Maher’s show and all he said was “to my Catholic friends, I will never use my pope is a nazi joke again.” I rarely use the expression “WTF??” but in this case that is what I thought. This is no apology. It’s as is he is totally unrepentant and wants to be more offensive. In any case, as Fox also said, the Holy Father has received rock star receptions in the US so I think it is safe to say he has a lot more fans than Maher.
I think, (hope) we will see dems having their fill of their party when they are faced with a choice between voting for an empty suit Marxist (Obama) and McCain in November by secret ballot.
I know many dems who see Obama for what he is or really what is isn't, (experienced) for POTUS, and will vote for McCain

Every time there is an anti-American statement made on tHAT SHOW...THE CROWD GOES CRAZY WITH APLAUSE. It is horrible, I can’t believe HBO -has not been the target of a national ban.
All German Children had to join the Hitler youth. The Boy Scouts were banned in Germany and the scouts had to join the Hitler Youth, just for an example. It wasn’t as if they had a choice in the matter.
I remember watching World At War, video some years ago. I believe as a birthday gift to Hitler, all children of 10 years of age or older were required to become HY.
They even disbanded The Boy Scouts.
He is neither. He will self censor as soon as HBO finds his ratings have sunk so low they have to read them in the sub-basement of their headquarters.
Cowardly dreck like Maher, and his ilk should be really “cutting-edge” and pioneer material making fun of and mocking Islam. There should be a Christian anti defamation league in place to stop this double standard. I don’t have HBO and I recommend boycotting that channel as well as all of the excrement pumped out of hollywood, including all movies and tv shows.

Everywhere you looked yesterday, you were told that he would be making an apology to the pope on his show that night. Drudge had it, the news nets had it, everybody ran that story. And you. along with a lot of other eyeballs, watched his show last night.

Maher has the right to his opinion and to say what he wants. I have the right not to watch his show. I want neither his, not my rights infringed upon.
Unfortunately, there are way too many people who think he is funny or he wouldn’t be on HBO and have lucrative sponsors.
I don’t like for apologies being called for everytime something is said that we don’t agree with. People should consider that freedom of speech is more important than hurtful words from some idiot on TV.
Single day ratings don’t matter much to HBO since they don’t sell advertising. HBO cares far more about premium subscriptions.
