The Boston Globe Interview with the good doctor. CHILDREN HAVE CUT themselves. In some cases, 9- or 10-year-old kids have staged suicide attempts. The little boys sob unless they're allowed to wear dresses. The girls want to be called Luke, Ted, or James.

They call those girls 'tomgirls' and a very, very common thing - it's one of those gender role establishing things that kids do. And the little boys who wear dresses are usually either being molested by a family member, or have some very twisted parents...

This is, probably, one of the sickest things I've seen, and though I find it incredibly sickening to think about, I can not wait until the day comes that one of the victims of this clinic turns around and sues the hospital and the doctor for every penny they have.

They weren’t being quite clear about the “children” for whom puberty might be delayed, were they? The “children” weren’t all children, or a random selection of children. They were children who “. . . face medical issues that may make it difficult to determine their sex and may interfere with sexual and reproductive function.”

If you’re lucky enough that you don’t have to deal with that problem, great. Otherwise, don’t jump on some mindless bandwagon that urges people to condemn a treatment that might help people with a problem many people are blissfully unaware of.

Well maybe ther was an original issue/case that had some purely life saving mediacl reasoning behind it. However as we have seen in the past, when man chooses to play at being God, disaster always follows.
We seem in the recent past to have stepped onto that slippery path that may well lead to our own destruction.

I'm not buying this for one minute.

I've watched my kids, other kids and a ton of grand kids grow up. Girls are girls and boys are boys .. unless their growth is interfered with.

Both my daughters were raised in dresses when dresses were not the norm ... and they were happy to be 'pretty' ... until them damned red-neck guys entered their lives (I'm smiling .. calm dawn, calm down). That's when the jeans came out and a few "Hell Yeah"'s were heard occasionally.

My three boys were snakes n' snail' n' puppy dog's tails ... even when the girls started to enter their lives.

Yesterday was my 3 year old grand daughter's birthday. The theme? Cinderella.

She decided about 4 or 5 months ago (about 2 1/2 yrs. old, remember) that she was a princess and would put a dress over the clothes her pretty girl converted by a redneck mama (one of my aforementioned daughters) would dress her in.

My grand daughter could be seen at almost any time of the day whirling and dancing in the living room proclaiming "I'm a princess" (No, not that clearly, but I don't think the keyboard has been invented that can truly transcribe baby/child talk that is reserved for parents and G parents only)

Yesterday, she got a lot of presents .. every one of them girly, with 3 or 4 dresses (she had requested them).

Her favorite was a Cinderella ensemble .. (probably from China, probably loaded with lead .. ) that she put on over the dress she had on .. and when we left last night ... she had fallen asleep in the gown and hard, plastic shoes. (The girl walks better in those stupid, dangerous high heels than most women I see today that grew up in sneakers and velcro).

I don't buy these reports that attempt to 'prove' kids are mixed up about their sex ... it's the parents, schools and society that those kids are in, telling them they're screwed up.

Same observations here. Girls have that feminine bit going from the moment they can stand. Boys are...boys. They have no confusion, it is hardwired in.

Thanks for the link, edweena. I imagine most of these children are those who have physical characteristics that make it difficult to decide sex. However, this featured article, Born With the Wrong Body at your link, does not focus on the physical aspects, but transgender issues in a child's mind. This male twin with a female sister has a perfectly normal male body; his issues are in his mind.

Why do people like you keep asking FedGov to do more and more stuff they’re not authorized to do, then complain when they get into stuff you don’t like? You KNOW that if they assume authority over YOUR pet area, then they’ll do the same for the ACLU’s pet areas. Or the enviro-nazis’.
