California Democrats anxious as Clinton-Obama acrimony deepens
San Jose Mercury News ^ | 4/20/2008 | Mary Anne Ostrom

As the candidates' dueling sound bites ring out with increasing sting, Democrats are growing ever more anxious about how long it's taking to nail down their party's presidential nominee.

And among Bay Area Democrats, there is deep concern that the Clinton vs. Obama rhetorical mud wrestling shows no sign of abating.

"Obviously, you don't like the personal attacks. I think it will be hot and heavy all the way," to the August convention, predicted San Jose Assemblyman Jim Beall, a Clinton backer attending Friday night's annual Santa Clara County Democratic Party dinner.

The exchanges between the candidates grew even sharper Saturday, three days before the Pennsylvania primary. It is another must-win contest for Sen. Hillary Clinton, whose lead in polls there has narrowed in the six weeks since their last electoral showdown.

Sen. Barack Obama accused Clinton of "slash-and-burn, say-anything, do-anything special interest-driven politics." And Clinton suggested Obama backers are being hoodwinked by the Illinois senator's "whoop-de-do speeches." Of her speeches, in contrast, she wants "everyone thinking."

This fiasco has degraded into a girl fight, with lots of scratching, biting and pulling of hair. I love every single minute of it. Don’t you just love it when the rats eat their own?

WWKD? What would Karl (rove) do? I love it! Rove you magnificent bastard. He doesn’t have to do a thing but he’s indirectly bringing clinton and obama to unelectability. We may get a 40 state victory. If that’s the case, even with the GOP having trouble recruiting solid candidates for the house and senate, we could well see gains in both chambers.

Well put. Of course, even without Hillary in the fight, liberals always fight like girls. Just listen to Allan Colmes's grade-school level tu quoque retorts-- if you can stomach him.

Clinton and Obama Agree on “Electability”

Despite strenuous and continuing efforts to portray each other in the most negative light possible, both Democratic presidential contenders responded affirmatively to the question of the other’s electability during their recent debate in Pennsylvania.

“Yes, yes she can,” was Senator Barack Obama’s assessment of Senator Hillary Clinton’s potential to defeat Republican nominee Senator John McCain. “She has the raw cunning and guile necessary to succeed with American voters. She’s proven this by surviving scandal after scandal during her husband’s political career. Ever time she’s been down, she has risen again—just as scum always rises to the surface of a pond.”

“You know, Senator Obama is a remarkable man,” Clinton said in response. “Despite his meager, almost nonexistent, governmental experience he has been able to mesmerize voters with his virtually inexhaustible supply of empty platitudes. So, yes, I’d say voters are gullible enough to elect this poseur.”

A California Assemblyman has proposed a dramatic hike in the state beer tax:

Joe Six-pack will have to pay a lot more to get his buzz on if Assemblyman Jim Beall has his way.

The San Jose Democrat on Thursday proposed raising the beer tax by $1.80 per six-pack, or 30 cents per can or bottle. The current tax is 2 cents per can. That's an increase of about 1,500 percent.

I’m hoping for this to go all the way to their convention whereupon riots will break out after Hillary steals the nomination, then more acrimony as she heads into November with <1% of the black vote.

I think the Clintons are about to pull one of those “Clinton Miracles” in the remaining primaries to rescue the nomination. Obama and the idiot Dems will be dumb-struck ... We Freepers will have known all along that the “fix was in.”

THE VOICES OF THE DEMOCRAT PARTY
IN THEIR OWN WORDS:

"God, damn America!"

"When I go to a dictatorship, I only have to talk to one person and that's the dictator, because he speaks for all the people."

“Where is the g--d--- f---ing flag?... I want the g-d--- f---ing flag up every f---ing morning at f---ing sunrise.”

“That will teach them to f--- with us.”

“I’ll do whatever it takes to get us elected.”

“I want you to get rid of all these bitches he’s seeing…I want you to give me the names and addresses and phone numbers, and we can get them under control.”

"When people kill us, they should be killed in greater numbers. I believe in killing people who try to hurt you."

"I’d like to kill all of these sons of bitches and just be done with it!"

"I can do any g---d--- thing I want. I’m President of the United States. I take care of my friends and I f--- with my enemies. That’s the way it is. Anybody who doesn’t like it can take a hike."

"I did not have sex with that woman."

Karl Rove was on Fox News Sunday this morning with a map, that showed McCain with 261 electoral votes, and Obama with 159. That would leave McCain 9 votes short of victory, with 105 undecided.

Amen, Bimbo. I have been saying that straight on for months.

So many (even in my beloved FR) seems to forget that the democrat party is the clinton party! It is not the Obama party. It is owned outright by the clintons. Their rope-a-dope tactics (and all of their media-abetted machinations) are lengendary and will arise again in the PA primary and the rest going in.

As much as I hate to be so pessimistic, the facts are that with the evil Clintons, there is no other way to be. They are otherworldly, old-school evil, and will stop at nothing. Obama never had a chance, especially when Rush and Sean resurrected the GD witch before the Ohio and Texas primaries.

Look, Obama is a massive hypocritical liberal, no question. But too many of us have—inexplicably in my mind—once again been put to sleep by the Clintons.

I really hate them. And they will most likely be in the WH again, thanks a great deal to conservatives taking their eyes off the ball and allowing the GD clintons back in.

Fat Chance. They'd want her to lose, so Barry is the shoe-in candidate for 2012.
