Once you realize humans are not causing global warming and/or climate change, then you need an explanation for how and why so many people appear to think they are. In two previous articles (Environmental Extremism and Historical and philosophical context of the climate change debate.) we examined the philosophical and historical context of climate change and specifically the focus on humans as the cause.
We explained the philosophical concept of uniformitarianism that dominates western science; the incorrect idea that change is gradual over long periods of time. We looked at how the scientific method of testing the theory that human CO2 was causing warming/climate change was effectively bypassed. Now we need to examine how politics took over climate science through exploitation of public fear and lack of knowledge.

What is far, far more disturbing is the supposedly conservative party in this country has bought this bullshit hook, line and sinker, after being shamed by the media. McCain is the worst offender. But GWB, the RNC etc is just as culpable.

The world obviously wants Global Warming. So, Global Warming there shall be even if nobody knows exactly what it is.
It is a marketing ploy. The product is development of a new tax base, not to replace existing taxes, abut a fertile new source of revenue. Also, these “carbon credits” will become a fine new market for international trading, a way to shift wealth from the affluent to the underdeveloped countries.
For the multilateralists, a win-win.

I don’t believe its a Hoax. If Polar caps and Greenland-ice-sheet melt, most of Earth Mass is going to go under water due to 40 foot rise in sea-level. Displaced people would fight for resources and they would obviously dry up fast.

There is a reason people are gearing up to fight over the new land that is emerging in Greenland. They are not fighing over imaginary ice-field.
There will be impact on the planet when 2.5 Billion Indians and Chinese are burning up fossil fuel almost at the same pace as us. You can’t put that much CO2 in atmosphere and expect no change at all. ACID RAIN was real.
This is why BRILLIANT minds like Newt recgonize that this is not going to be PARTISAN issue anymore. You have to switch to Nuclear Energy and like and not turn all the Corn into fuel to keep food resources healthy and keep burned fossil released in the atmosphere at minimum. This doesn’t mean we should wreck our economy or walk to work as AlGor would have us do. It does mean that we can’t keep it going at the current pace and not have consequences. We won’t turn into Cannibals as Ted Turner would have us believe, but we would face massive starvation amongst other problems.

Just follow the money and you will see where global warming leads you. Just exactly what is a “Carbon Credit”? Is it something you can hold in your hand or just a figment of your imagination and something that just makes you feel like you are doing something?
It is also a way to reduce the world leverage of the oil exporting countries, primarily Arab.
Not that I object to the latter, but deception, manipulation, scientific mendacity, is not the way to do it; given that the intelligent people are going to see through the whole thing, and become more cynical than ever about the global politics.

When you have to resort to insults, your point must be weak. The “Maverick Scientists” who disagree are few and far in between.
You simply have to ask yourself two questions:
What impact would it have on sea-levels if Polar Caps and Greenland Ice-sheet melt?
Is there evidence that melting is occurring as we speak?
Don’t think you need to work too hard to get answers to those questions. BOTH GOP and DEMS now recognize that we can’t ignore this issue because its not a political issue but it impacts future human survival.

Some say that if you limit amount of CO2 that you release in the year, you can prevent the Polar Caps from melting. Thus the efforts underway to keep the planet the way we know it. Otherwise, there it would just be different and that will be that.
Yes. I have read about Edgar Cayce and his work. Seemed like a reasonable descent Human Being. Read more about him before you go off the handle. I don’ know if everything he said is true. However, there are many things he predicted that have come true. So its just one point out there.

I love everything you say! We would indeed find out ways to deal with it as Civilization progresses. Step #1 - limit the amount of CO2 released in atomosphere by finding sources of energy besides burning fossil fuels. Even today in US we get half of our Electricity by buring Oil. How stupid is that? It costs more, hurts economy, hurts enviorment, finances our enemies. France gets 80%+ of its Electricity from Nuclear Energy. Its cheapest, greenest and safest. In less than 5 years, if we had a leader that can stand up for Nuclear energy, we could have unbelieveable impact on fuel costs, economy and enviorment. Good impact that is!

I wish someone would expand on this theme. People who advocate government expansion are no different from those working in other industries; product/service development is an ongoing process.
Socialism should simply be recognized as merely a front for governmental "entrepreneurs". Many cities have addressed the simple issue of polution without going into the nonsense of eco-wackoism.
BTW the acid rain was supposed to make the earth unlivable in 2000. We seemed to have survived that too.

Improper amount of CO2, can trap too much heat and cause melting of large ice-masses. Rise in sea-levels would lead all kind of problems. So in some ways those two problems are not completely independent.

There are floods every year. So maybe you mean one giant Global flood? Like I said, the whole world is not going down, but most coastal areas would - if Sea Level rises based on polar cap melting. So may be its not a technical violation of what you are referring.
