Sect has kicked out some 2,000 teen boys...(WHERE BOYS ARE ROUTINELY EXPELLED)
Star-Telegram, USA ^ | Jack Douglas, Jr.

Posted on 04/22/2008 6:10:10 AM PDT by LJayne

There are believed to be far more girls than boys among the children in custody. And the Texas boys are thought to have escaped the hardships common in other Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints communities, where boys are routinely expelled.

Hunting outfitters in Jackson Wy that I hunted with a few years ago were jack mormons, and they took in an expelled boy from one of these hillybilly mormon cults. From what I gather if the kid did not work the 14-16 hour day required by his “father” then he could hit the road. So he hit the road and the couple found him on the streets of St. George. So I always thought that voting for Romney wouldn’t be much better that voting for David Koresh.

Cold, just cold.

You do have a point. Many, many Mormons have know of this for years and did nothing about it, the shame is on their house.

This sentence is unclear. Who is expelled here? Did the TX boys escape hardships because they were expelled, or are the hardships common in other communities in which boys are routinely expelled? I think it's called a dangling participle.

The whole LDS arrests may be due to a HOAX! Rozita E. Switon may be the caller who said "Sarah Jessop Barlow" was raped at the LDS compound.

Rozita has done hoaxes before and it looks like "Sarah Jessop Barlow" may not exist.

Sam Brower, a private investigator in Cedar City, Utah, who has tracked the plight of Lost Boys, said many “have just been discarded on the side of the highway. … Many have turned to drugs and alcohol and end up on the streets of Vegas.

It's way past time to put an end to this child abuse...

Although I live in SLC I'm not Mormon, but the area in the southern part of the state where they come from is an altogether different world and only represents a tiny, tiny, tiny part of the LDS community.

You can no more blame the main Mormon church for the FLDS cultists than you can blame the Southern Baptist Convention for the “God hates fags” crowd from Westboro Baptist Church or the Roman Catholic Church for the anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial of the “rad trad” fringe. The FLDS detached from the main LDS body in the 1890s. (BTW, I am not a Mormon.)

I don’t need ABC news to tell me anything, I trust them I like I trust Bill Clinton with a virgin. Still Mormonism needs to be vetted like any other belief system, and if the mormons here cannot stand the heat they should join the cults that comprise modern liberalism and stand next to someone like Rev. Wright. ABC would never do an expose on what his parishoners think so safe behind the PC wall of intended ignorance.

I’m thinking here that this cult is long overdue for investigation. The fact that there are only 24 boys among the 400+ children in the compound is chilling and revolting. There’s NO WAY the “lost boys” from this compound are all teenagers! There should be at least 300 or so boys of ALL ages, from babies to teenagers. Where are they all???? Seriously!! That’s an awful large number of boys to just disappear. Were they transported to another FLDS compound somewhere? If so, where and why?? I don’t know why, but these missing boys tear at my heart even moreso than the pregnant child “brides.”

It is sad and I can tell you how it is done. I was introduced to the Jehovah Witnesses. I hadn't been to church in years and didn't know the bible. I started to study the bible with them not knowing they rewrote it. Then they told me I should get rid of all religious items because they would bring Satan in my house. In essence JW becomes your whole life. If someone does wrong they are to be exposed and put on public reproof and if unrepentative, kicked out never to be spoken to again. I know it sounds weird that a person would succumb to brainwashing but it is very subtle and done over a period of time. You are too afraid to leave because it has become your life and Satan would have a field day forever with you. I am now a Christian - very happy.

Please define what you are speaking of??? Does or does not the Mormon Church claim it has better birth records than anyone and is it not part of their teachings? If so they know where the fathers in the cults are and how old the little girls are.

Calling on Mormons to step up is hardly bigotry.

Westboro isn’t a good comparison because they have few members. This cult had several hundred alone and it is not the only polygmous cult calling itself “Mormon”.

Keep in mind though that these cults think the real Mormon church in SLC is apostate.

Where in the world are you getting the 24 boys number from?. Hell there was 92 taken the first day of the removal if you believe what some news reports say.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1996856/posts?page=30#30

...School buses and buses from First Baptist Church of Eldorado were used Friday to transport 167 children from the YFZ Ranch to the Schleicher County Civic Center where they were turned over to representatives of Child Protective Services. There are reportedly 96 boys and 71 girls in the group with ages ranging from 6 months to 17 years.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1997522/posts?page=457#457

....Authorities removed 52 children Friday afternoon and 131 women and children overnight Friday. About 40 of the children are boys, said CPS spokeswoman Marleigh Meisner.....

You perfectly describe a cult, driven by fear over love.

You mean like going to hell for not accepting JC as your personal savior?

All religions are created to satisfy important, underlying needs. If you live in a desert hell-hole and have a tremendous inferiority complex, then Islam starts looking pretty appealing, what with all the conquering, vengeance will be mine fun & games.

If you lived in an age where extra-marital sex was heavily sanctioned and birth-control was non-existent (say, the US in the 1830s), then a religion that allowed you to play the field, under the auspices of "marriage", as if it was the 1960s free-love generation would fit just the bill.

Fast forward to today: what are the great taboos of our culture? One of them is pedophilia - it's just common sense logic to predict that a religion/cult would manifest itself with a doctrine of underage plural marriage concomitant with banishing younger, male competition.

Someone mentioned gays being attracted to St George - just wait, we'll see a church organized around these tenets, complete with plural gay marriage/civil unions. Some states, I believe Calif, even allow gays to adopt, so that would be one way to achieve a steady flow of welfare dollars for child support.

I don’t care if the raid was due to a hoax. I don’t care if the POTUS himself set the cult up for invasion. The whole world knows what these little girl rapers are doing and have been doing for over a hundred years.

Why don’t you sit down with a few of the men or boys who were thrown out on the street at age 13 or 14 so their daddies could rape little girls without fear of competition. I bet you wouldn’t have the huevos to even open your mouth.

You have a point about Westboro’s small size relative to the FLDS. However, they would argue that all Baptist and other churches have departed from Biblical teaching with respect to homosexuality. Likewise, the extreme traditionalists in Catholicism regard the most recent Popes as illegitimate and the mainstream church as apostate. These are similar positions to what the FLDS holds in relation to the LDS.

semantic, the sad thing is that many people only point their finger at the catholic church or some other church. You said all relligions. The truth is many times these cases will be exposed but how many do you think go undetected where no religion is being practiced? This is only the tip of the iceburg I’m sad to say.

So to say this only happens in religious communities is a falsity.

Until the early 1970’s child sexual abuse was thought to be rare, and centered among the poor. Experts now agree that child sexual abuse has always occurred and still exists in all socio-economic groups. Increased public awareness has led to greater reporting; from 1970 to 1990, child sexual abuse reports increased more than other categories of neglect or abuse.1 Despite this gain, child sexual abuse still remains vastly under-reported.

True but the FLDS is a very strange bunch. It really is a cult. They worship certain men rather than God. That’s why they don’t evangelize. The whole focus of the LDS church is to grow. FLDS seems have no interest in it.

Yep Multiple post on FR makes it fact I’m sure......

They did remove/isolate ‘two dozen teen/adolescent’ boys last Monday the 14th. Some stories say they were placed in temp foster care and others don’t say where they placed depending upon how the news reporter chose to express it.

But nowhere does the CPS state that only ‘two dozen’ boys make up the total number of boys taken from the ranch. In fact I gave you two links of reports of higher numbers being reported during the first days of the removal.

I think it will be proven that there has been serious welfare fraud and serious crime against the state in the form of statutory rape and incest.

But I don’t want to be accused of Mormon-bashing so I guess I’m supposed to say, ‘not that there’s anything wrong with that.’

I refuse. Semantic, you’re right, but you left one thing out: that America was founded on the predication of religious freedom. And so our Consitution is being used against us. Collectively.
