Los Angeles 'is a Third World city'
Daily Telegraph (UK) ^ | 23/04/2008 | Staffer

Posted on 04/22/2008 7:44:40 PM PDT by PotatoHeadMick

Los Angeles is becoming a "Third World city" with immigrants making up half its workforce, says a new study.

A third of immigrants have not graduated from high school and 60 per cent do not speak English fluently, the Migration Policy Institute found.

It said this left immigrants ill-equipped to fill California's fastest-growing occupations, such as computer software engineering and nursing. The organisation added that as the so-called baby boomers reach retirement age, a similar pattern will spread across the US.

Ernesto Cortes Jr, of the Industrial Areas Foundation, a think-tank that specialises on social change, claimed Los Angeles was at a crossroads.

"The question is are we going to be a 21st century city with shared prosperity, or a Third World city with an elite group on top and most on near poverty wages?" he said.

And, I always heard they had the nations best schools, at least in earlier times.

They aren't anymore. They are staggering under the load of the children of Illegal Aliens who are 1,2,3, or even 4 years behind their peers. So teachers spend all their time and most of their energy trying to get them up to grade level and the children who are natural born US citizens of US citizen parents cannot get a decent education.

It really is a shame. California, much like you stated, used to be the best place in the world to grow up in.

Anita Hill never in her life spoke truth to power.

Juanita Broddrick however, certainly did.

Oh okay, you can see into the future and our infrastructure will crumble, but you don’t deny that we have it now. Third world countries and cities do not. It’s that simple. L.A. is not a third world city, no matter what the British newspaper says. Perhaps they should look at their own cities.

Two years ago that guy and all of his buddies were being besieged by mortgage lenders who were willing to throw money at them no questions asked and no collateral required. Is it any wonder the foreclosure rate has more than tripled since the same time last year?

LA really is becoming more like Mexico daily.

Seriously, it is.

Eventually, it probably will be Mexico.

The Mexicans certainly see it, as theirs. Some actually say it, right out loud. The rest believe it.

You can see it, in their eyes. They’re taking the state back for Mexico - and eventually that will involve throwing out the Gringos.

They’re preparing for that day, eventually.

It will come. I’m planning to move soon. It no longer feels welcoming, or safe here.

La Enchiladita knows this as well.

Everyone with a scintilla of any experience and intelligence can see that day coming.

I only need to look at Mexico, to see how that country has deteriorated over the years to know where Los Angeles will end up. The same people are the primary contributors to the downgrading of both areas.

I hope you are happy in your new location. Some people, though, have lost the ability to be happy and then blame it on location. It's good to know the difference.

I traveled through Huntington Park on Sunday...haha...I think that is 98% brown.....but Sun Valley is worse, becuase it is the highest concentration of illegals in the County.

Does a “98% brown” Huntington Park mean that L.A. is a third world city? I’m just trying to make the connection with the assertion of the Daily Telegraph article.....

If Mexicon is such a grand place, why are all of it's citizens risking their lives to walk across the desert and paying a coyote serveral thousand dollars a piece to get here?

“If Mexicon is such a grand place, why are all of it’s citizens risking their lives to walk across the desert and paying a coyote serveral thousand dollars a piece to get here?”

-

2 reasons:

It’s not actually such a great place - it’s corrupt and run by elitists. (except why then flee to California?...)

“Reconquista”.

Not necessarily in that order.

Answer this question honestly please:

Do you genuinely object, to the idea of “reconquista”?

I mean, deep down. Really, truly object?...

Thanks.

This is the real L.A.

Hmmm. You got more crime per capita in Richmond Virgina, than Los Angeles, Cal does.
