Newt joins the dark side (vanity)

Posted on 04/23/2008 7:49:53 AM PDT by devere

I just saw a TV ad starring Newt Gingrich and his pal Nancy Pelosi pitching their bipartisan solution to the nonexistent "climate crisis".

You can join Newt and Nancy at http://wecansolveit.org/, if you wish to join their delusional bipartisan crusade.

"The greatest challenge facing mankind is the challenge of distinguishing reality from fantasy, truth from propaganda. Perceiving the truth has always been a challenge to mankind, but in the information age (or as I think of it, the disinformation age) it takes on a special urgency and importance." Michael Crichton

That's why I don't want that kind of "bipartisanship." If that's the best today's GOP can offer is endorsing Nancy Pelosi's agenda, I'm not going to vote for them. New Gingrich has indeed moved over to the dark side.

Newt sold out a long time ago when he played kissy-face with John Kerry and promoted "Green Conservatism".

He just needs to go away now!

“climate crisis” is Latin for “revenue generator”

Politicians simply creating issues to get more money and power.

Newt has sold out.

Newt sold out a long time ago.

When he deftly rerouted the 1994 class into swearing support for the "Contract For America" rather than their true mandate of shrinking the Federal monster he demonstrated WHO he was working for, and that was NOT the American people.

I don't particularly like Newt, but he has been consistent about using free market solutions.

Yes, but in this case, solutions to what? More and more, this big push by the Left to legitimize "climate change" seems to me a hysterical effort to make sure Al Gore is right about something for once, whatever the cause.

If there's one thing the Left hates, it's having egg on its collective face. They'll do their damndest to alter the truth so that doesn't happen.

Juveniles, in other words.

I agree. The sad thing is that the Left has been allowed to co-opt the high ground on this issue. Now opponents actually have to 'acknowledge' the Big Hoax in order to put forward market-based ideas. It's a tragedy that almost no politicians have called BS on the carbon issue. Jim Imhofe is the only one I know of who's faced the issue square-on but few of his Republican cohorts have the guts to join him.

Money seems to top common sense. We are enduring (still) the coldest winter in 30-40 years, so now Republicans are jumping on the global warming band wagon. We are having record breaking lows while we keep praying for even a tiny bit of global warming to help out.

What in the heck is going on with the Pub party anyway? This GW crap is a big load of BS and a method to make us go back to third world standards. God made this world and God is the only one who can destroy it. We certainly can help keep it clean but that crap they come up with will not help a damn thing.

I am getting so cynical.

It would surprise me to see to see their kids in lucrative positions at the firms trading carbon credits.

Funny thing is their kids should have went to school and majored in mining engineering or nuclear engineering, to lead the efforts in drilling off the coast of CA, MA, FLA, in the Gulf, ANWR, and Under the Great Lakes. Not to mention the Bakken find and the Gas find in PA/VA. Or a another degree that would help with the Fisher-Tropsch process in converting Coal to liquid fuel.

But that would take real effort and somehow nullifying the lunacy of such groups as the Serra Club to make all of the above happen.....

Beam me up Scotty, the House and the Senate have no clue about energy independence....

"Lost all respect for Newt. I thought he was smarter than that. Or, does he have stock in the carbon credit business."

Newt and Pat Robertson are not going to be left out of the $ to be made off ordinary people. They're going to ride the taxpayer gravy train if not by "carbon credits" by being paid to be spokesmen to scare and convince peons to wreck the economy and destroy the country to save their grandchildren to live a more meager existence than their great-grandparents did. The kiddies will be happy to have no future in order to "save the planet" since they've been well brainwashed.
