In fairness to Reuters (I never would have believed I’d say that!), the photo is used as an illustration, not a news photo. It isn’t claimed as being legit.

Betcha the whole “dried up river” stuff is fake, too. You can see the patterns....so smooth...so even...like they were set.

Hmmm.
I think the fish would be more dehydrated if the ground had been baked into bricks like those in the picture. JMO.

I think “staged” is more accurate than just saying “fake”.
Just as nasty but staged none the less.

Shoot, stock tanks here in Texas look just like that fairly often—but no fish of course, at least not like that.

This picture is obviouly Photoshopped, G. Bush wasn’t really there.

“Hmm, on second thought, maybe it’s not the same woman. I’m not sure, though.”
I don’t think it’s the same woman — look at the line that runs from the lower lip to her chin in the second photo. The woman in the first photograph has only a dot on her chin.

The bottom was once all mud. The fish would have been covered with mud, if that was where it laid dying. This is a staged photo.

Flip over a tennis shoe and place a dead gold fish on it and voila! You have a Reuters photo!

The d would have to be two or three months dry and the fish would be about 1/2” thick. It is a fake. Probably not a lake to begin with.
