Another day, another new reason to homeschool. They never seem to end.
Good grief...
“That teacher, she had it in for my daughter,” Thornton said. “I raised my daughter not to disrespect adults, so I took care of this situation. Yes, I hit her. I do what I have to do to protect my child at all costs.”
Yup.
Bad grades and sporadic attendance at school but Mom wanted correct grades? I suspect that was one reason for the attack because the teacher wouldn't give grades the girl didn't deserve.
Sooo.. you think if Georgia had homeschooled little Sequita, she'd have turned out better?
At the very least, the other students wouldn’t have been subjected to those people.
No, but my kids wouldn’t be in danger from her either. If nothing stopped this deadbeat from attacking a teacher, nothing is going to stop her from attacking her classmates.
Socialization like that we don’t need.
No, you didn't, you liar.
.... so I took care of this situation. Yes, I hit her.
And so did your daughter.
Paranoia is not reason to physically attack someone. If you were defending your daughter from a physical assault, you'd have a case. If the teacher is just giving her the grades she deserves, tough beans.

related?
Related? You’re right! They’re related to Obama. Just look at the ears!
Good point.

I worry about the world full of people our kids will have to contend with.

Don’t recall the teacher attacking the kid.
The teacher has a duty and a right to do her job and control the classroom. The kid has been raised to be a complete moronic disrespectful snot.
I hope the judge throws the book at both of them, and that the teacher can get a job in an area where she can get more respect. Maybe a private school.
The public schools are standing in the gutter, and the kids cannot get any education when the teachers are doing more disciplining that teaching.
Parents are a disaster. Sterilize both the mom and the kid. They won’t improve.
Thornton said she had been meeting with Williams because the teacher wouldn’t give her daughter the correct grade.

The mom has absolutely NO idea how this kid behaves in the classroom. Probably the mom didn’t behave any better. Not attending is probably part of the problem, but not doing classroom work nor homework is probably involved, also.
How the mom could determine what “grade” the kid deserved is beyond me.
Another parent with the life-long case of terminal DENIAL disease.
I do, too. Way too many whackos out there.
You protect them when you can, and pray the rest of the time.
Good advice! My boys are on their own, but that doesn’t stop me from worrying!

I wouldn't call it denial disease but you may be right. Best I keep my opinion to myself I think.
I raised four kids so I have some experience at teaching respect for others.
It is sad for the daughter, regardless.
“Sooo.. you think if Georgia had homeschooled little Sequita, she’d have turned out better?”
Moot; they’ll both end up in a cage, where they belong. We should inquire as to the price of Devil’s Island.
With a name like Sequita and a school called Southside - you know this story is going to turn out bad.
