Hillary Clinton, Ex-Arithmecrat

Enough with the fake metrics.

Hillary Clinton has every right to stay in the primary race for as long as she wishes. She would enjoy that right even if she hadn't won yesterday's Pennsylvania primary. The reason she enjoys that right is that Barack Obama is still 544 primary delegates shy of the 2,025 delegates he needs to nail down the Democratic nomination for president, according to the Associated Press' delegate tracker. ... Still, it's an arithmetic possibility. Arithmetic pedantry is practically the only friend Clinton has left.

... There's no chance anyone inside the Clinton campaign believes that is going to happen. It can happen, arithmetically, but the Clintonistas no longer believe in "numerical metrics."

...

This isn't arithmecracy. It's arithmetic idolatry—the worship of irrelevant numbers. One can only assume that Clinton has decided the real numbers are too depressing. Does that mean the end of her campaign is near? I'm beginning to suspect so. Hand me that slide rule …

This article nails it. Great analysis of how the Clintons (and Dems in general) will flock to whatever measure system will give them a win.

The Dems couldn't wait to complain about he electoral college in 2000. Now it is the only remote thing Hillary and her legions can hang their hat on, if even that.

This is just typical of DemocraPs; play by the rules unless you are about to lose then decry the rules, claim they're unfair and must be changed; then if you don't like the new rules, seeks comfort in the old rules, buit only if it lets you win. Disgusting...

She should stay in to the end. Anything can happen. She deserves this nomination, she won all the big Democrat States, she has the best shot at beating McCain, she has the most experience, she's the most centrist, she knows what needs to be done as President, and she is the most qualified.

God Damn the system!! Its not fair! It discounts Michigan and Florida! She would be the best one, everyone knows it, even Obama, you can all go to Hell !! She's staying in to the end of time.

She needed 90 to 100 percent of the delegates in PA for a hope at the convention. Since she got a bit more than 50%, that remote possibility is even more remote or nonexistent without the superdelates.

...that is the beauty of this whole deal - the Clinton's pulling the same crap on the Dem's that the Dem's tried to pull on GWB 2000. Some poetic justice being achieved here.

I can just imagine a scenario if Hillary was the owner of a football team that lost in the Super Bowl bu the score of 18 to 15.

The scoring breakdown is as follows:
Team Hillary - 5 field goals x 3 = 15
Team Opponent - 3 touchdowns (no extra point) x 6 = 18

Hillary would claim victory because her team scored more times, 5 to 3 and will not accept the obvious loss due to the score but will appeal to the Commissioner to include the number of times scored in arriving at a decision of who won.

All this stuff about the numbers is meaningless. If Barack does not have “it” when he walks into the convention, or if he can’t “seal the deal” on the first ballot, then ALL bets are off. The convention becomes wide open. It becomes deadlocked, and who knows, even Breckboy could become the dark horse candidate.

This could become every bit as exciting to watch as the superbowl between the Giants and Patriots.
