DENVER -- Talk show host Rush Limbaugh is sparking controversy again after he made comments calling for riots in Denver during the Democratic National Convention this summer.
He said the riots would ensure a Democrat is not elected as president, and his listeners have a responsibility to make sure it happens.
"Riots in Denver, the Democrat Convention would see to it that we don't elect Democrats," Limbaugh said during Wednesday's radio broadcast. He then went on to say that's the best thing that could happen to the country.
Limbaugh cited Al Sharpton, saying the Barack Obama supporter threatened to superdelegates that "there's going to be trouble" if the presidency is taken from Obama.
Several callers called in to the radio show to denounce Limbaugh's comments, when he later stated, "I am not inspiring or inciting riots, I am dreaming of riots in Denver."
Limbaugh said with massive riots in Denver, which he called "Operation Chaos," the people on the far left would look bad.
"There won't be riots at our convention," Limbaugh said of the Republican National Convention. "We don't riot. We don't burn our cars. We don't burn down our houses. We don't kill our children. We don't do half the things the American left does."
He believes electing Democrats will hurt America's security and economy and appeared to call on his listeners to make sure that doesn't happen.
"We do, hopefully, the right thing for the sake of this country. We're the only one in charge of our affairs. We don't farm out our defense if we elect Democrats ... and riots in Denver, at the Democratic Convention will see to it we don't elect Democrats. And that's the best damn thing that can happen to this country, as far as I can think," Limbaugh said.
Denver will host the DNC on Aug. 25 to Aug. 28.

I am 100% for Operation Chaos, but Rush needs to know when to shut up. He is creating a common enemy (himself) for the Dims that they might put aside their differences, unite, and hence eliminate the advantages we got from Operation Chaos.

He didn’t call for them, he just observed they would happen based on a historical perspective. I will say the sun will rise tomorrow. I am not calling for the sun to rise, just making an observation.

Hold on. Before we start going DU over here, let's just bear in mind that many leftist groups have long ago stated that they were going to disrupt the Dems convention. I have personally seen their web sites on how to riot. Rush is merely mocking them. So put down the DNC talking points and think things through before posting.
Heard his broadcast on that and he didn’t call for riots. What he was inferring to was that >if< there were riots, or the way he put it ...”a riot in Denver if Obama doesn’t get the nomination ......” He didn’t come out and say “Hey, all you people riot out there so we can win” .... Sharpton was the one who came out and said there will be “demonstrations” if Obama didn’t get the nomination. And we all know what >he< means by “demonstrations” .....

If Rush’s (and Hannity’s) paramount concern is the country’s welfare he will tell his troops to either lay down their arms or vote for Obama.
A recent poll showed that Obama is 2 1/2 times worse than Hillary against McCain in Tennessee.

Limbaugh is all powerful. Rove only rents his hurricane generating machine from Limbaugh. Limbaugh lets him have it because he doesn’t need it, he calls tempests and earthquakes into existence with the sound of his voice. He speaks and the mind-numbed zombies in the DNC rise from their chairs, in a trance, and begin to squirt lighter fluid on their Volvos.

(1) Did you actually listen to the program? Rush said what would happen — based on comments by some of the top race baiting libs and history — not calling for it to happen.
(2) Did you catch this line in the article? “Limbaugh said with massive riots in Denver, which he called ‘Operation Chaos,’ the people on the far left would look bad.” Now, unless you have been living in a hole in the ground, you know that this is 100% wrong. (For those of you living in a hole in the ground, Operation Chaos is about the primary contest between Hillary and Obama and has been going on for quite a while.) Heck, do a Freep-Search for “Operation Chaos.” In other words, this reporter is either ignorant or lying, which means this is a typical left-wing biased pile of cr@p.

Conservatives and Republicans don’t riot. That is the domain of lice infested, flea bitten smelly liberals and democrats.
He keeps reminding them about that. Osama bin Laden has always been our enemy. Whenever he sends a new "Death to America!" message, we are reminded about him; about how dangerous he is.
This is just plain BS, taken out of context from Rush’s show and as usual distorted by the MSM. Rush hasn’t called for conservatives to riot in Denver. He’s referring to the Al Sharpton threat of rioting IF Ubama’s ‘nomination’ is ‘taken’ away by ‘shady back room deals’ with the superdelegates and given to Hillary, when Ubama has ‘overwhelmingly’ won the popular vote—just more examples of the MSM (and certain unnamed FReepers, unfortunately) who have a terrible hate thing for Rush.

It never ceases to amaze me that anyone believes anything the media has to say. At the very least any news story should be investigated by consulting 2 or 3 independent sources before any credence is given to it. The media in this country is composed almost entirely of people pushing agendas and as a result what we get is not “news” but propaganda. What with modern photo shopping and editing even film - which purports to exhibit “reality” - can be made to show anything that the editors want it to show. And it seems that more and more even seemingly trivial stories are “angled” to deliver some message or other.
I am also quite certain that those so quick to come down on Rush did not listen to this broadcast or, at best, heard only part of it and so have no clear idea of what he actually said or meant.
Rush is certainly an opinionated bloviator. He has never tried to hide this and in fact has quite openly boasted of it. And he certainly has never hidden his conservatism or presented himself as impartial. In my opinion he has done more to advance conservatism over the past 20 years than any politician or pundit with the single exception of William F. Buckley.
I knew this would become a drive-by “controversy” when I heard Rush speaking on the topic of riots. He was, of course, referring to the broader context of Operation Chaos causing the Hillary and Obama camps to duel it out in the streets of Denver.
Folks here should try to listen to what he said.
He was talking about how some Dems ...mostly black hustlers were ginning up disturbances if Obama is superdelegated out of it
and how the Dems have a history of rioting at conventions
He never encouraged folks to riot.....what a crock.
And he just made himself the issue, not Operation Chaos. Your hubris is going to bite you in the rear, Rush.
