The residents behavior was an example of anarchy in the inner cities, whenever a disaster happens.
One does not reward bad behavior with govt tax dollar handouts.
Our area was hit hard by Ivan, but I did not see the feds handing out “diasaster reparations and $2500.00 “bling bling” visa cards.
McCain only made a fool of himself and his comments about “Never Again” were totally absurd.

People were too dumb to get out of New Orleans before the storm, then blamed the Federal guvment.
I agree with “Darkwing104.” Sen. McCain also said, “There were unqualified people in charge....” The ELECTED officials of New Orleans and Louisiana primarily were in charge of the pre-storm and post-storm arrangements. I’m tired of this stupid group “angst.” The people of New Orleans made some bad choices, and the predictable results are not any one else’s fault.
1. Bush offers the Rat Gov for the Feds to take over emergency response from the locals a day before Katrina hits - Gov “No Thanks”
2. The clueless Mayor has zero plans, other than letting hundreds of evacuation buses get mired in five feet of water while sitting in perfect formation. (Sounds like our Planes at Pearl harbor)
3. The Naw’lins police are nowhere to be seen other than looting a Walmart.
Meantime the initial Federal response includes Hundreds of sorties by our brave Coast Guard risking it all. Sure Brown didn't do well, but even if Patreous was in charge of FEMA, it was a no win situation...Katrina was just to massive.
McCain is sickening me. I thought the worst possible thing was a RAT in the White House especially with them running Congress. Maybe it's best to stay home in Nov., let the RATS destroy the country and some how find a true Conservative over the next four years whom will get things right.

You are exactly right! We live on the Mississippi Coast (where I might add Katrina actually made her landfall). The CHURCH and the National Guard were outstanding.
