Larry Lessig lectures to Google employees An Obama adviser denies he had blasphemous intent by including in his lectures a video of a 'gay' Jesus Christ sashaying nearly naked down a city street to the tune of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive," only to get run over by a bus.

"I decided to stop using the video when one Christian whom I knew told me he thought it was unhelpful to the purpose for which I was using it," said Stanford University law professor Larry Lessig on his website. "That seemed right, so I dropped it."

The controversy began when Erick Erickson at the weblog RedState posted a YouTube.com video of Lessig giving an author's talk to an audience of Google employees.

Having seen the video, I didn't see it as blaspheming Jesus. I saw it as what happens to a guy who is blaspheming Jesus. He gets hit by a bus in a spectacular and pretty funny fashion.

Obama Tech Advisor Introduces Video of Gay, Singing Jesus Who Gets Hit by a Bus

Erick Erickson over at RedState tells us all of an anti-Christian video recently introduced with great frivolity by Internet philosopher and Obama technology advisor Larry Lessig. The video introduced at a Google Author series seminar shows Jesus singing the Gloria Gaynor tune “I Will Survive” in a very effeminate, theatrical way. As the song ramps up, Jesus throws off his robe and strips down to a diaper-like covering, then he sashays through a modern city until he gets hit by a bus in an intersection.

The worst thing about this is that this is also another scandal involving a Barack Obama campaign associate showing his disdain for the American mainstream, this time a disdain of Christianity. It turns out that Lessig is a somewhat secretive Obama campaign advisor, serving to assist the campaign on Internet and technology policies. As Erickson points out, Lessig hosts Obama’s tech policy on his own lessig.org website.

The notion of such a video is repugnant. However, at lessig.org, I don’t see much by way of evidence that Lessig is advising Obama, other than speculation about what BHO’s tech policies might be like. For as much as I disagree with them both, Lessig is far above the pay-grade of a BHO ‘aide’.
