McAuliffe Said Michigan Shouldn't Count

Terry McAuliffe, Sen. Hillary Clinton's finance chairman, is one of the biggest proponents for counting Michigan's primary results even though the state violated Democratic Party rules by moving up its contest.

However, Mark Nicholas finds an amazing passage in McAuliffe's own memoir, What A Party!, that shows he took a very different position as DNC Chairman four years ago.

It’s this very old school, win-at-all-costs mentality that is driving Democratic voters away from Hillary Clinton and will surely cost her the nomination that both she and McAuliffe believed was simply an inevitable formality a year ago.

We glared at each other some more, but there was nothing much left to say. I was holding all the cards and Levin knew it.

It seems to me it's the states that hold the trump card. When they change their primary dates they should pass a law that any party that does not seat the full number of duly elected delagates does not get their candidate on the ballot.
