Border Fence Fiasco(Chuck Norris)
worldnetdaily.com ^ | April 28, 2008 | Chuck Norris

Posted on 04/28/2008 5:15:45 AM PDT by kellynla

Last week Customs and Border Protection officials reported that two months after Homeland Security Secretary, Michael Chertoff, approved a $20 million virtual fence along a 28-mile stretch in Arizona (called Project 28), the fence was scrapped as impractical and ineffective.

Is anyone really shocked by this security fence fiasco? Another government solution bites the dust.

Our government has failed to produce a suitable resolution to the illegal immigrant crisis. Amnesty is not the answer. And immigration laws aren't effective if we continue to dodge or ignore them. Furthermore, globalization efforts have only confused security matters, endangering our borders as well as our national identity – our sovereignty.

While border patrols and homeland security have made some headway, our nation's boundaries, ports and airports remain largely open runways for illegal and terrorist transport. For example, Sen. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M., just sent out his newsletter update (April 21, 2008) reminding us about another type of illegal crossing, those from the United States to Mexico. It appears drug cartels are again using revenue derived from their "free trade" to illegally purchase weapons in the U.S. and smuggle them back into Mexico, where they are bolstering murder rates up 100 percent in certain towns.

Exacerbating the security crisis is the fact that there continues to be a shortage of both Border Patrol and other safety government officials. The Homeland Security Department is still trying to fill last year's 138 vacancies in high-level jobs – an employment crisis that it calls "a critical homeland security issue that demands immediate attention."

It just miffs me that Norris supported someone for whom the fence meant nothing.

To now claim it as important to him is suspect. He could have made a difference. Who knows, maybe Norris realizes that himself now, too.

“I don’t appreciate you associating Reagan’s one (of very few) mistakes?”

Well, as far as illegal immigration is concerned and the issue at hand, RR’s “mistake” is one hellofa mistake.

You may not “appreciate” it, but it is accurate.LOL

RR just should have been more like IKE when it came to illegals & the border!

I'm not denying it....

I'm saying it pales in comparison to McCain's glaring missteps....

..but since he's your guy, you refuse to see the distinction.

“but since he’s your guy?”

fyi, I’m not his “guy”

For the record, if you had been paying attention, you would KNOW that I have many issues with McCain.

AND I proudly campaigned for RR for POTUS not once but twice!

And before you start comparing one POTUS with another “candidate” ya might want to at least let McCain serve one term as POTUS before you start making comparisons. LOL

even a fence with gaps would funnel people into zones where they could be apprehended.

That's called shaping the battlefield, in military terms. And that is exactly what DHS has planned right now; they are not planning on putting up 2000 miles of wall along the southern border.

If a state wide office is required for a good candidate
then you must think Hitlery and Obama are better than Hunter.

He had 27 yrs in congress with more military and national security experience and background than most Senators and almost all govs.

We keep getting lip service from the adm. re the fence.
Bottom line, they are trying to run out the clock as Nov.
will be here very soon and then they don’t have to bother there after.

If Hunter was such a good candidate for POTUS then why isn’t he “the” GOP candidate for POTUS?

The liberal MSM made sure to keep Hunter off of any recognition.

Also many pedantic folks believe in the myth of
candidates being a Gov. first. and the self fullfilled
ranting of he can’t win.

If republicans said Reagan can’t win so we won’t vote for him and instead split the vote in several directions, we wouldn’t have had Reagan for a Pres.

“The liberal MSM made sure to keep Hunter off of any recognition.”

That is soooooooooo weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeak! LOL

Hunter isn’t the candidate because he wasn’t as good a candidate as others and because he ran a poor campaign.

“Also many pedantic folks believe in the myth of
candidates being a Gov. first”

Well, that obviously didn’t apply to McCain now did it.

And there hasn’t been a non-governor to win POTUS
since JFK.

Now lets see if Hunter can win a governorship or U.S. Senate seat from CA if he is as good a candidate as you say he is...

Great tagline.

Hunter’s candidacy made it easier to spot the idiots.
He may have been a poor campaigner, but his issues resonated.

So you didn’t like the only conservative with the most experience in international affairs.
Your peoblem, not mine.

Also with more democrats registered in California,
no conservative or moderate republican will ever win as gov. or Senator But you knew that.

Unless they are super popular for something OTHER than conservatism.

“So you didn’t like the only conservative with the most experience in international affairs?”

Didn't say that, now did I...

“Also with more democrats registered in California,
no conservative or moderate republican will ever win as gov?”

and who were Reagan, Deukmejian, Wilson and Schwarzenegger

FYI, statewide elections in CA are turned by the registered Independents.

"Your peoblem, not mine?”

your spelling skills are almost as inferior as your debating skills.

But you keep trying...I love knocking amateurs around. LMAO
