WASHINGTON--Sen. Barack Obama’s former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, called the month-long debate over portions of his past sermons an attack on the black church Monday and repeatedly accused the media of taking his words out of context.

On whether his public appearances – including one Sunday night at which Wright mocked the voices of Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson – were hurting Obama’s presidential candidacy, Wright appeared unconcerned with his political impact.

And referring to the U.S. government, he said, blacks are still owed an apology for slavery, and said he’s told Obama, if he’s elected November 5, “I’m coming after you.”

I saw the “press Conference.” I couldn't believe that he was making these outrageous statements, basically calling all white people racists and accusing them of attempted genocide. And he got applause from the audience. Now ask yourself “Who made up the audience members?”
Journalists! They applauded him, they cheered him on, they threw softball questions to him (more like t-ball) and they even finished his sentences. I was appalled.

Was it still whitey's oppression and slavery that is the reason that more than 3 of 4 black kids are born illegitimate? Or the fact that the black prison population is several times the percentage of the general population? Of that more black kids are dropping out of school now than ever before?

You want an apology? Apologize to yourselves for taking your race and dipping it in $hit. And never forget that when you point your finger at someone you have three more pointing back at you.

What a laugh! What a stretch! Black churches all over America are rushing out already *today*, to say that Wright doesn’t represent or speak folr *them*!

Man! *That* came from left field. I certainly did not see this/him as a representative of any other black church, other than his own, and possibly the two others that feted him after his clips were released. And I haven’t heard of anyone else painting all black churches with Wrights hate speech.
