Ed Frawley Posted Video on YouTube to Expose Conditions at Fort Bragg
When Edward Frawley went to welcome home his 22-year-old son, who was returning from a tour of duty with the 82nd Airborne Division in the mountains of Afghanistan, he was in for a shock.
Not to hear the stories about Jeff's battles with insurgents, but to witness his son's current living conditions at Fort Bragg, N.C.
So, Frawley did what any concerned citizen does he posted a video on YouTube two weeks ago, containing still photos of moldy ceiling panels, broken toilet seats, backed up sewage water flooding a bathroom, exposed pipes and demanded that viewers contact their congressmen.

Who does this guy think he is? Doesn’t he know that we must send 15 billion dollars to Africa to fight AIDS first?
Doesn’t he realize that we need to borow billions of dollars from China to send out tax ‘rebates’? Doesn’t he know that we have to provide the TERRORISTS gourmet halal meals and hot showers, and korans, and legal representation, and...
Africa gets billions in thrown away money and our guys get to live in moldy barracks.
What the hell happened to Fort Bragg ? It was beautiful when I left it . Of course Nixon was President then . This is no way to treat the soldiers of the 82nd , America’s guard of honor .
Obviously, there’s a stark contrast between how our troops are treated and housed compared to the elected human waste in DC who think of themselves as royalty and live in luxury. I highly recommend housing Reid, Pelosi, Feinstein, Boxer, Kennedy, Kerry, Murtha, Queen Clintoon, and the rest of the DC slimes in moldy quarters like they expect our soldiers to live in.
LOL! Just a guess but these guys are gone so much I have a feeling there is not much left behind to keep up the buildings.
That said, I'm sure the civilians that make up the post facility engineers will be (hopefully) used to maintain the barracks instead of hanging out at Burger King
(yes, it's a joke)
Drove my son to St Louis to make his flight to Germany last year and stopped at Ft Campbell on the way up.
It's been 24 years since I was last there (sure as heck doesn't seem like it) and I could barely find my way around the place. And so much new!! The PX also seemed to be BIGGER than a Wal-Mart!
My dear grandson that grew up in my home is with the 173rd Airborne - Battle Co. - in that very Province his son was - 5 more months to go on 15 - they have been in more firefights than is believable - if he comes back to this - they're going to have one mad as a hornet gramma after them...or, as my grandson calls me, with a smile: "My awesome rabble-rousing gramma"
(I AM a trouble maker)
It ain’t your Dad’s Army anymore.

What do you expect from carpetbaggers?
They established a committe??
Back in the OLD Marine Corps, we would have just gone out and bought paint and scrub brushes and started on the job ourselves!
We had Utilities people, our own plumbers and even had Seabees for the big stuff, what is wrong with the army to need a committe to clean up the barracks???
YES, I saw the video!
Why am I so tired of people complaining about every damn thing?
Suck it up!
Foxholes aren’t plush, either, dad!
FYI, that $15 billion for Africa was later doubled to 30, and then Congress in a last minute burst of charitable fervor increased it yet again, the final vote approved a total of 50 BILLION DOLLARS of OUR TAX MONEY.
THIS IS WHAT I POSTED ON THE ABC COMMENT SECTION..
All the posts are blaming the current administration for these problems. People conveniently forget that the Clinton administration cut budgets by 50%. That’s why the military branches are so short staffed. When I was in, at the latter part of the Carter years in office, it was much worse than this. When Reagan, my hero, got into office, he raised the salaries of the troops and improved the conditions for the troops. Whenever a democrat is president, the military budgets get cut and when a republican gets in, they try to bring the conditions up. I realize it’s bad for the troops on military posts and bases all over the country but when the Congress refuses to increase allocations for new constructions and renovations, it’s not the president’s fault. EVERYONE in the chains of command can help improve the living conditions for the troops. Last thought, most civilians in the support areas of military bases don’t give a damn for the troops. All they want is a job, a pay check and benefits which usually are far better than the troops they support. ME, ME, ME. That’s what everyone says until a situation like this happens, then it HIM, HIM, HIM. No one will take the blame. It will never change.
You obviously you have no problem with government standing by winking and nodding, and actually aiding and abetting millions entering this country illegally, while this government makes us pay billions at gun point, to subsidized, house, and pay the medical expenses for these millions of illegals.
It's costing this country billions, while our own people are shoved to the back of the line, and people like you tell them to, "Suck it up".
Nice.
This has nothing to do with illegals. This thread isn’t about them.
Imagine the uproar if a prison was ever found in such disrepair.
It's disgusting.
Ya know, I've got to the point where I can't watch *any* politician or government official on television without being offended and pissed off.
If they're lips move, they're lying.
Wow, a crappy Army barracks. He’s never been to El Paso. The Corps has Gomer Pyle quonsets @ Camp Pendleton that they still use though thankfully not as barracks.

Don't give me that bullsh*t.
Our armed force are totally underfunded, and underpaid. Members of the military, and our bases should be held to a world class standard.
Did ya get the part where this government sponsored invasion is costing us many BILLIONS????

They’re at the point now they don’t even lie.

Typical lib crap.
For some reason, no one blames the Clinton administration for depleting our military.
And make no mistake about it, the reason that Clinton was able to state that he cut the budget is that his “cuts” were in the defense department.
This guy is upset because he wasn’t in touch with his son.
However, if you listen, he was in touch with his son.
I recommend that everyone watch this video.
It’s PROPAGANDA at it’s best.
Excellent
My husband served our country proudly for 25 years...in the US Army. He was drafted. I have a list of 16 addresses in the first 10 years....for both of us. We never complained. Housing wasn’t fancy.
I climbed steps to the fourth floor living quarters while living in Germany...from my fourth to ninth month of pregnancy. I carried our laundry five flights to and from the basement. No elevators.
Many times housing wasn’t even available where we were assigned, so we stayed in hotels at first...would sneak the dog in and out. The baby had to sleep in a playpen.
Sacrifices? You betcha. Hopefully your military service was easier.
That's because bozo Bill hasn't been president for 7 years now. Ya know, at some point in our future, some of you folks need to quit blaming the other corrupt party. Otherwise, you'll be blaming bozo Bill for problems in 2016. I would guess it's up to others to straighten out any problems that occurred in the past.
But don't count on the current crop of leadership, as you'll be quite disappointed.
That has absolutely nothing to do with my response to you.
Interesting. I did my Army Basic Training housed in a Qounset Hut in '76 at Fort Lost-in-the-Woods, Misery.
Thank you for your service to our country. Oh - and to your husband too! ;)
A lady friend of ours will talk about the time early in their marriage raising kids on military housing. Cramped quarters, husband away, etc. - but when she talks about it she sounds like she even sorta misses it a bit!?
You never served. I'm a combat vet. Want to tell me more about "your" sacrifices?
The only reason you posted half you life story was to make yourself feel better, but it had zip to do with my response to you.

Thanks so much! Yes, it wasn’t easy, but oh so worth it when I look back. It made me a stronger person. Even our kids learned to be independant and never complained. And, by the way...my husband was an officer. We were from another generation, though, and learned to live with life’s discomforts.
His son is gonna catch hell from the Army! When I was in the Marine Corps, we never had barracks like that. Every Thursday evening was Field Day and on Friday morning you could eat off of the floor.
And one last thing, I know you’re Germany time must of been real brutal, all that sacrificing stuff.
However, I looked at Germany as R&R and a nice place to visit.
I think after 15 months in Afghanistan these soldiers deserve better than this.
You want to talk about sacrifices?! I remember one time in Hawaii when our hotel was a block from the beach. Another time it was on the beach, but we didn't get beach view rooms. And don't even get me started on the times the TV remote didn't work.

I presume this is supposed to be humor?
You are absolutely right and it will take time to correct all the damage he did.
They deserve a whole lot better.
Kind of, but it's all true. I was Air Guard aircrew, so we were treated pretty good.
I hear what you're saying but it's the Public Works Department made up of highly paid civilians who are tasked with the maintenance on these buildings and not U.S. Army Staff Sergeants who are considered part of the senior enlisted ranks.
Anyway having said that these soldiers should have been assigned to other quarters even if it meant in a hotel offbase.
Any truth to that?
The typical Army answer to all of these problems is to slap on a coat of brown paint.
That's right. Paint over the mold and lead chips. No sanding. No re-plastering. Just paint over it. I saw it first-hand once, and I never looked at life in the barracks the same again.
Of course it’s up to the gov’t to provide for the supplies, but the manpower is there, and available to do the work...
Get out the toothbrushes!
Now, now. You know you just can’t discount every immigration fixated thread hijacker. They all have a point you know.
Gas prices? Immigration’s the cause.
Mortgage bust? Immigration.
No cure for obesity? You got it...immigration.
And so on. You obviously haven’t been here that long.

Those buildings were beyond scrub brushes and paint. That wasn’t a latrine. It was hepatitis city.

Base housing support has been outsourced.
