At the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday night, one of the biggest laugh lines was Scottish comedian Craig Ferguson hitting Fox News: I spoke to a lot of journalists about how I should speak up here. And all the journalists said Craig, Your duty is to speak truth to power. That's what you do, you hold the truth up for everyone to see, thats your job.
I'm sorry. I dont see it that way. Thats your job. Youre journalists. Im a late night television show guy. I make up crap that isn't true then I say it on TV. Im like Fox News. I'm not a journalist.
Ill be the first person to complain about the provocatively dressed supermodel anchors and reporters on Fox. (At least one was seen baring much at dinner on Saturday night.) But give credit where credit is due. And credit is due to Sean Hannity in this campaign season. His contribution to the Jeremiah Wright story stood out even clearer on Sunday night, in stark contrast to CNN's.

Baring much?? Proof please!
Great post. Thanks.
Thank you, Sean.
P.S. Hannity is doing the same with William Ayres--again, letting Americans see the 'real Obama'--someone who has no problems being friends with an anti-American, bombing-throwing, terrorist.
Hannity needs to put his focus back on Hillary again...Obama
it is plain to see is damaged goods.
Come on Sean, time to ramp up the Peter Paul debacle again as well as the Hsu controversies
ABSOLUTELY... Sean is fantastic.
Though I’m not a big “fan” of Sean’s show,( I disagree with him often) he deserves “kudo’s” , “ditto’s” & “thank me’s” for his fine job exposing Rev. Wright for the evil & dangerous slime that he is.
Thanks Sean!
Ill be the first person to complain about the provocatively dressed supermodel anchors and reporters on Fox. (At least one was seen baring much at dinner on Saturday night.)What, no pics?
Sean has done an excellent job of getting the word out on Obama. He has shown the way for many others and deserves lots of credit. Keep it up Sean!
As the old limerick says: "You can tell a man who boozes by the company he chooses. Then the pig got up and slowly walked away...."
When you look like
a burka is baring too much.
Sean is also on top of the William Ayers connection.
You should be ashamed of yourself.
What does her appearance have to do with the substance of the article?
I listened to Wright's explanation too, but I still don't buy it. He said that God condemns nations. The Bible supports that so I agree as far as that goes. However, it wasn't God standing at the pulpit in a church yelling "God Damn America." That was reverend Wright spewing his gutter theology.
Thus, it appears that Wright said in effect, well, since God condemns nations, I can also condemn a nation. In other words, Wright has made himself the equal of God and takes upon himself the right to judge a nation. Pretty heady stuff!
Wright has compared America to Rome. So I would ask Wright this: When Jesus was on the cross, did he yell out "God Damn Rome?"
And something else he has done is to try to deflect the criticism of himself and say that it is an attack on the black church. If his congregation agrees with his gutter theology, then yes, they should be held in the same low regard as Wright. But that is not an attack on all black churches, it is directed to the gutter black churches where black theology is preached to gutter congregations.
I don't. He's way too self centered. He also did a complete flip/flop on McCain...probably just to get a television interview with him. I suspect him of situational ethics.
That being said I agree that the “info-babe” (as Rush would call them) thing can get out of hand. A bit of eye candy doesn't hurt, and she/he is just reading a teleprompter after all; but REAL Journalists should be judged by the quality of their work rather than how photogenic they are.
Your post is totally inappropriate
I understood the cheap shot by the poster; I just don’t think it’s relevant or useful.
The article had a lot more to it than the scanty clothing of the info-babes. To focus on one’s beauty (or lack thereof) is characteristic of the churlish behavior at DU.
She brought it up! The other poster provided “context”.
Whatever. FOX news is laughing their way to the ratings bank.
Yes he is, but that won't keep Democrats from voting for him, and even after the contentious nomination process, I strongly expect them to fall in line behind Obama if he gets the nomination.
Obama is damaged goods as far as the right is concerned, and much of the middle.
However, McCain is damaged good as far as conservative are concerned, and he really isn't getting hit hard by the Democrats or the media yet. Clinton appears to have actually gained on him recently and poll numbers for Obama against him are all over the place.
I think that is to a great part because McCain keeps hurting himself nearly every time he open his mouth.
The worst possible option would be for Obama to win the Presidency, and while Obama is horribly flawed, he still has a decent chance of winning because of the nature of the Democratic Party. He is also Charismatic, and a lot of people are justifiably suspicious of the press and will discount much if not all of the evidence of how scary Obama is.
McCain on the other hand is definitely not Charismatic, and he continuously pisses off his base.
If Obama wins the nomination, his numbers will jump as Democrats fall in line, and it will be an ugly, close race tot he White House.
If Hillary wins, she will also get a bump in the polls as the Democrats fall in line, and McCain's best bet would be to not say too many stupid things and run as the not-Hillary candidate. Anyone think he's going to do that?
Hillary might be the harder to beat, but Obama is the worse of the two to have in office, and McCain is not a strong candidate. We could very realistically see Hillary be knocked off in the primary, and see Obama win the race between too crappy candidates.
So is it better to knock off the worst candidate now, or is it better to let him win the nomination and risk him winning the White House.
Thanks for the post. Always nice to confirm with a picture those that whine about the appearance of people, i.e. “...provocatively dressed supermodel anchors...” and “...short skirts and lip gloss....”. Wasn’t quite sure how that was relevant to the article other than to contrast Sean’s work with that of the woman that work on Fox. Perhaps she was trying to imply that good looking woman can’t be serious journalists?
Craig Ferguson is not where he is because of his brains, he is where he is because he’s a clown who loves attention.
LOL
