Is Jeremiah Wright a colossal disaster for Barack Obama or a [Hillary Clinton] press trick?

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright couldn't have done more damage to Barack Obama's campaign if he had tried. And you have to wonder if that's just what one friend of Wright wanted.

Shortly before he rose to deliver his rambling, angry, sarcastic remarks at the National Press Club Monday, Wright sat next to, and chatted with, Barbara Reynolds.

A former editorial board member at USA Today, she runs something called Reynolds News Services and teaches ministry at the Howard University School of Divinity. (She is an ordained minister).

It also turns out that Reynolds - introduced Monday as a member of the National Press Club "who organized" the event - is an enthusiastic Hillary Clinton supporter.

On a blog linked to her Web site- www.reynoldsnews.com- Reynolds said in a February post: "My vote for Hillary in the Maryland primary was my way of saying thank you" to Clinton and her husband for the successes of Bill Clinton's presidency.

Obama had said that he had not heard Wright’s controversial remarks, but to the extent that he did hear them, he disagreed with them. Obama went on to say that he didn’t much notice any political talk from Wright, and he was there to hear about Jesus.

But after hearing Wright’s speech describing just what the Black Liberation Theology of his church was all about, that excuse no longer flies.

That would be like saying “I’ve listened to Rush Limbaugh for 20 years, but I’ve never heard him say anything negative about the Clintons. I’ve never heard him criticize liberals. I just listened to hear about football.”

I heard from a reliable source that a staff member of Bill Moyers,—I don’t remember her name or position—thought Wright’s “speaking tour” would help soften his image. The word is that their intent was to let Wright make public speeches with less incendiary language giving the media more kinder, gentler sound bites to play in place of the ones they’ve been playing over and over. I can’t confirm this but if somebody in the media are interested they should start in the office of Bill Moyers asking questions.

I would say 100% chance dirty trick by Hillary Clinton, 0% chance Obama spin! :-)

***Is this news story just spin from Obama’s campaign or evidence of a typical Clinton dirty trick using Minister Farrakhan um. Reverend Jeremiah Wright?***

I kinda sorta agree with Newt, but for reasons no one is talking about yet. Wright WANTS a race war. That would make him seem prophetic. If he can get broken windows and fires burning in Denver, maybe he can get it to spread. Race baiting hucksters have no street cred if there is no racial tension. If everything went smooth, his sermons would seem rather schitzo. Jesse Jackson, Sharpton and Wright type hucksters are becoming like tags on America's armpit without trouble in the streets. If America nominated Obama, even if he loses the general, it proves we aren't as bad as what they've been saying for 40 years. If Wright can knock Obama out by himself, then the trouble will start, no matter what the reason.

Obama is just Obama, Clinton doesn't have to try with all this help, and McCain is even hurting himself to dance around the race issue. Wright is screwing Obama for HIS own reasons. The most inflammable result would be the Dems nominating Clinton at the convention. That is the optimum result for Wright's purposes. If the Dems nominate Obama, then he is so damaged, or even more stuff in the future comes out, that McCain wins and the US is still a racist pit of snakes for not allowing Obama to be president even thought he's a commie terrorist sympathizer. Either way, trouble is brewing.

Reverend Wright is to Barack Obama as Fort Marcy Park was to Vince Foster.

I don’t like Hillary, but her team does receive an A+ for this one. This has been worth taking the time to watch. LOL

What a sorry bunch of heinous individuals the Democrat party has publicly proven itself to be by offering these two scam artists as their top picks for President. As I have been saying, watching Obama and Hillary go at each other is like seeing two pigs in the barnyard fighting in the mud. Neither will come out clean. And now comes the old boar (bore) to whoop it up a bit more! With a few months to go who knows what we will hear next that will cause further dissention in the party. This is getting disgusting, even for a Republican. I can just imagine how staunch Democrat voters are feeling. It’s just is plain old dirty Democrat debauchery day after day, after day , after day, after…

Can we say anything the Dems are doing is constructive? Typically, no.

"Obama is no victim in this!"

Exactly - Obama tried to pull off an enormous scam of historic proportions on the public and he's been exposed as a liar and a fraud. I only wish it could have happened in October because now we could still get Shrillary.

I’d be interested to know if the membership of TUCC is up or down since Wright’s rhetoric has been on public display for the nation.

That trend would be interesting.

I read the blog post you linked, and I have to say that is about the dumbest analysis I've seen of the whole ordeal.

Could be. We'll see.

Of course, Rush had this to say, I don't know how many hours after that blogger:

If Wright had any doubt about it, that doubt has been settled today because today he was thrown under the bus, thrown under the train, thrown under the airplane, even flushed down the sewer by Barack Obama.

I guess they're both stupid.

And you're the genius!

The Clintons do this to one of their own, a fellow traveler, a young black man who was trying not to get into the stinking cess pool mud slinging smashmouth campaigning that so many voters are sick of, just think what they will do to their enemies.

These two swindling crooks should never be voted in to return to the office of the presidency. Our country and citizens have suffered much because of their reckless disregard and negligence of national security.

One more point, Hillary wants us to believe that Barack is a bad person because his reverend is a bad person. Guilt by association.

So in turn she wants us to believe she is a good person because her pastor, who we don't know anything about, is a good person and he is not Rev. Wright.

What a way to win the presidency. Two candidates so much a like in policy and ideas, but have two different pastors. Hillary doesn't have anything to offer than her last name. Barack at least is doing this on his own without a former impeached ex-president husband's political connections.

So are we voting for the pastor? If so, I'd like to see and hear Hillary's.

I don’t disagree with what Rush said in that quote.
It has absolutely nothing to do with what the blogger said in his post.

The blogger seemed to suggest that Wright coming out and making a fool of himself was some kind of brilliant stategery on Obama’s part. But it wasn’t.

It didn’t change our opinion of Reverend Wright. It only reinforced it. So now when Obama said “that’s not the man I met 20 years ago,” there is a collective response back of “BS.” It is patently obvious to all that Obama has to be the worst, most inept judge of character there is, or he is lying and doing what politicians do, as Jeremiah Wright has told us. And don’t think Reverend Wright won’t have a response now to this.

Rush just said that Obama had thrown Wright under the bus. Indeed he did.
The only problem for Obama is he missed the bus by a few weeks.
