Besides, a 16 yr old male knows what his hormones want him to do. Anyway, those 16 yr old girls are usually too slutty for their male peers.
By extension, a 14 yr old, when presented with a willing female sexual partner, in many cases will rise to the occasion and do the nasty.
Fail to recognize that and you're fooling yourself.

if this were a male teacher and your 16 yo daughter....i doubt you’d be thrilled about his wanting to help her overcome her shyness.

Can’t convince someone that a 29 year old teacher shouldn’t be having sex with a 14 year old kid who is also her student? Yeah NAMBLA is the right forum for that kind of person.
She’s in jail because she broke the law, I believe the technical charge is lewd and lascivious assault upon a minor under the age of 18. Thats more commonly called rape. All this talk about cute women being not guilty and guys wanting it are infantile at best. Its rape, its immoral, it hurts the child, it destroys the life of the adult, it spreads STDs. But of course it does entertain degenerates.

Actually your comments on the ability of society to regulate sexual activity is only true in the libertine societies of the West. Other places in the world, especially in Muslim countries, have little difficulty in maintaining a far stricter lifestyle. There is a thread up right now about the 'honor killing' of a 16 year old girl in Iraq by her father, because she had been seen in public in the company of a soldier from the West. With the rapid disappearance demographically of Western countries it is very possible that many Freepers will find themselves living in societies of this sort as time goes by.

Rape is not a legal term. As much as you might wish my opinion is not knee jerk. Its based on current law which has been around for quite some time.

You’re absolutely correct-— but those are societal rules and as I said earlier, they have no relationship to biological rules or vice versa. Of all the lessons we have learned as a species, paramount among them should be that we cannot legislate morality.
As you say, it is possible that sharia law may eventually be common in much of the western world but it isn’t happening yet. Until it does we will have to continue to struggle with teacher-student relationships such as we have discussed here.

Saying she’s cute and so not guilty is a joke. Saying its acceptable for an adult to have sex with a child is not acceptable. “If he wants it then its not rape”
