We don’t provide them any traffic/readership if we publish the entire articles here on FR. Only if we force somebody to finish the article on their site can they really benefit from having published it (so we can post it here).

It’s only fair and NewsMax is not one of the nazis so we SHOULD be treating them respectfully just like anybody else we respect and want to see survive. (i’m leaving TIME, NewsWeak, NYT, LAT, WaPo and others off that list...)

I'm with ya on that and even when the full text is posted it pays to give the good guys a click. Helps support the content provider and we do want to keep them afloat.

The only downside to that is that things can disappear down the memory hole that way and there is a duty if not a right to document when a site revises and extends their remarks.

Hey, do we have some sort of list we can access for sites that we must excerpt or cannot post from at all?

Drives me batty getting all the fields filled for a post and then getting it totally rejected.

At the moment there is an interesting piece from sfgate (San Fran Chronicle online) I’d like to post, at least an excerpt, and I don’t know if I can.

If anyone is interested, it is about a very strange death in SF and the ever stranger way the police have handled it.
