Two ex-terrorists who have caused controversy with their criticisms of Islam told a University of Colorado crowd to "Wake up and smell the hummus" Tuesday night.
Walid Shoebat and Kamal Saleem, whose talk was titled "Why We Want to Kill You," spent 90 minutes in the Glenn Miller Ballroom detailing their terrorist experiences and explaining flaws in American terrorist policy.
"I am standing on (America's) wall, crying out, saying, 'Wake up, wake up,'" Saleem said. "We have a saying that goes, 'Wake up and smell the hummus. If you don't, you'll be smelling it for a long time.'"
They say Americans don't understand the resolve of Islamic fundamentalists and that the public should do more to understand the dangerous aspects of the religion.
The speakers have drawn criticism at many of their tour stops in support of Shoebat's book of the same name. They drew a crowd of roughly 1,000 on Tuesday night.
I wish I could have been there. Lots of upset leftists.
Maybe the Dems in Congress and the Senate should go to one of the presentations. Just a thought.
It’s UC-Boulder and the rag that printed this story is the Daily Camera. ‘nuff said on both counts.
Religion of Peace....yeah right!!!
It was a surprising straight story considering the source!
Shoebat said, according to statistics he didn’t specifically cite, that for every seven leftist professors on campuses, there is one “for America, you know, ‘God bless America.’”
And therein lies the real danger to America....
“Maybe the Dems in Congress and the Senate should go to one of the presentations.”
It would be better if ALL Americans were to attend the meeting especially the likes of Jorge, Condi and many Western “leaders” who claim that Islam is a ROP.

I doubt that you would find many conservative professors on the CU campus. Certainly not 1 in 7. Ward Churchill was voted “most popular professor” by the students a few years ago.
I know that the Young Republicans are very strong at UC Berkeley. Young Republicans invited these speakers to CU, too. These places are the Battle Front; I would think it would strengthen conservatives to be in this milieu.
Our son is there, and he’s a Libertarian.
That's the infuriating thing... You're trying to wake the slumbering b***ards up and save them from the approaching fire, and all they can do is grumble at you.
I agree...not on the CU campus.
Ping
I hope your son keeps up the good work at UC Berkley! That has to be an unusual experience!
How they can argue against the personal experiences of actual ex-terrorists is beyond me. This is the horse’s mouth speaking here and they still plug their ears and cry “lies! all lies! bush was behind it all!”
His books are on his site:

Thanks for the ping
Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Kennedy, Kerry, Feinstein, Boxer, Murtha, and the rest of the traitorous human waste in DC “NEVER” met a terrorist they didn’t feel sorry for or want to surrender to. IMO, the voters should send all these DC elitist, gutless ego-maniacs packing and back to the real world they’re trying to destroy.
Naw, I was at UCBerkeley (yegad) and he;s at CU/ Boulder. Just as bad, I am sure. Maybe he’ll flunk out and get a real job ....
I live not too far from Boulder. Several years ago I saw Charlton Heston speak at CU/Boulder. The leftists were out in force protesting that day. It is a great area for hiking and mountain climbing though.
And it is so beautiful in Boulder. Lucky you. Altho what was that I heard about a cougar ‘wandering in town.’??? (Makes a mom’s heart skip a beat). Of course they also had a National Marijuana Smoke-In the other day — the Prez didn’t cover THAT in his email to the parents. hahah.
I live in the mountains at around 8,500 ft elevation. It is snowing right now. I live near the Roosevelt Nat’l Forest so we have black bears, mountain lions, deer elk. Some moose too, but never in my yard. I heard about the “smoke-in”. The police just stood and watched. But, a lady in Boulder died her poodle pink and got ticketed. It is front page news on the Boulder Daily Camera website.
