Iran not afraid of nuclear sanctions: Khamenei

TEHRAN (AFP) - Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Wednesday declared Iran was "not afraid" of sanctions over its contested nuclear programme and would further step up its progress. ADVERTISEMENT

"We are not afraid of Western sanctions," he told thousands of people in a speech in the southern city of Shiraz broadcast by state television.

"The Iranian people, thanks to God, will resist in the face of sanctions and economic blockades and will further intensify their progress."

Iran has been hit by three sets of UN Security Council sanctions over its nuclear programme, mainly targeting its ballistic missile and atomic industries.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is the Muslim equivalent of “Ghostbusters”, only they are “Satanbusters”, dedicated to the exorcising of the Little Satan, Israel, and the Great Satan the United States.

They really believe they are the designated agents of Allah, and their purpose is to smite these two earthly embodiments of all that the Prophet has called for to be eliminated from the face of the world.

Then may the Worldwide Caliphate be declared.

Many shall die, of course, because they do not believe, and will not conform to the will of those who do believe.

Many of those who believe, shall also die, but it is in the greater glory of Allah and the Prophet, so they shall surely enter Paradise.

Either way, dead is dead, and there won’t be many earthly joys to share around.

they need to believe that you actually WILL do the thing you threaten to do. If they do not, the only way you can convince them is to 1) Do it (whatever it is. Bomb them, embargo them, etc.) or 2) Manufacture convincing evidence that makes it appear that you are already planning on doing it and ensure that this ‘evidence’ is obtained surreptitiously by one of the Iranian spies who masquerade as a UN Security Council representative for Russia or China.

But as we stand, the Iranians believe that Bush will take no action prior to the election and that the upcoming election will most likely result in a nebbish as President and they will have another 8 years to get their nukes perfected.
