There has always been a number of currency options. The euro has been around for years. In the 1990’s there was a move to go to the Swiss Franc. Right now it is a good deal to stay with the dollar. If the dollar starts to get stronger, you will hear the complaints and threats.

That’s pretty much what I thought, Natty.

I live in the Washington,DC area, and something has been happening here that has really opened my eyes: Europeans are showing up here with empty suitcases, so they can shop, shop until they drop.

This is not conclusive evidence of a top in the Euro or the Pound, but I think it is significant.

The dollar is so beat down, and now that everyone seems to agree that it’s got to go lower, it’s probably time to go long dollars and short the crap out of the Euro.

This is about Gulf states trying to contain inflation because their currency is pegged to the dollar. All they would do is let their currencies float. There isn’t anything in the article about pegging it to the Euro, or pricing oil in Euro’s. Don’t panic.
