That's funny....I don't recall Jesus ever saying "G_d damn Rome!" in my readings of the four Gospels.

“That’s funny....I don’t recall Jesus ever saying “G_d damn Rome!” in my readings of the four Gospels.”

Thanks for the absolutely fabulous thought

That thought is at the heart of why Yeshua was not and would not now be a Marxist, not even a Marxist-Light “Socialist”.

You cannot imagine Yeshua saying to a crowd of his believers that they should go form a mob to demand that Caesar go take money from everyone and give it to Yeshua’s disciples to fund their acts of benevolence to others. Yeshua would tell them that by their faith and actions based on that faith they will find and produce what they need, for “charity” or otherwise and they will do so taking, by stealth or by the demands of government, nothing from anyone. What they achieve, for themselves and for their charitable acts will be given to them, from the heart, not taken from anyone.

“Giving” cannot begin as an act of taking and socialism is based on taking - on the demands of government, and redistributing what is taken based on the political demands of those in power.

Even when 51 out of 100 of us think we have “democratically” determined the demand, to justify the acts of taking from others, it does not change the spiritual and psychological nature of those acts themselves - 51 of us think we had the “right” to tell the other 49 of us what is and is not “Christian charity” via Socialism; it is a spiritual hoax.
