And what might these institutions be? They are not specified. But it is safe to say that they are not the welfare state or the Democratic Party. Given that black liberation theology is a product of the dreary leftist politics of the twentieth century, the very vehicles employed by the left to advance statism certainly can't be the culprits.
For the left, black liberation theology makes for close to a perfect faith. It is a political creed larded with religion. It serves not to reconcile and unite blacks with the larger cultural, but to keep them separate. Here, again, The Washington Post reports that "He [Wright] translated the Bible into lessons about...the misguided pursuit of middle-classness.'"
Not very Martin Luther King-ish. Further, all the kooky talk about the government infecting blacks with HIV is a fine example of how the left will promote a lie to nurture alienation and grievance. To listen to Wright -- more an apostle of the left than the Christian church --

I had trouble posting a comment earlier today, when I clicked on post" my bottom bar line said "done" but my comment was never posted. There seems to be something strange going on here today. I don't know if this will be posted but I'll give it a try. HERE
OK, that link in #6 seems to work, but given how my luck has been running on FR today I don’t know if it will work for anyone else. I don’t even know if this will be posted but here goes.
I’ve asked my mother, a WWII German survivor who refused to join the ‘party’, how she thinks Hitler came to power.
She’s always told me to never underestimate the motivating power of ‘Hate’. It can make people do such evil!!
Hate = evil
Now, we’re supposed to believe that BHO could not recognize hate when it was right there in front of him all that time??
You all know where I’m going with this.....
No judgement
No intuition
etc
The real goal....is reparations...they want us to show them the $$$$$$$$$$$$$

Is Barack Obama seeking to be our first black president, or our first stealth black supremacist president? Since before he officially announced his candidacy, both the Right and Left have commented on the lack of information vis-à-vis just who Obama is and what hes all about. The candidate has built broad appeal by presenting himself as an open-minded moderate Democrat, but light shed on a little-known aspect his faith suggests his beliefs are closer to that of a refined Black Panther.
How many Americans would vote for a presidential candidate who was the member of a church that professed the following credo?
1. Commitment to God
2. Commitment to the White Community
3. Commitment to the White Family
4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
6. Adherence to the White Work Ethic
7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of “Middleclassness”
9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the White Community
10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting White Institutions
11. Pledge allegiance to all White leadership who espouse and embrace the White Value System
12. Personal commitment to embracement of the White Value System.
The question is rhetorical, of course. The answer is that such a candidate wouldnt have a snowballs chance in hell of getting elected dog catcher (apologies to Americas animal rescue and public safety personnel) let alone President, because that candidate would be instantly branded a racist, among the most vile and frightening of white supremacists.
And those holding the branding irons would be 100% right.
I have a black ancestor who was a freed slave, Rufus Hargrove. So would I get reparations? I look 110% (too) white, deathly white.....
Has anyone else had trouble posting on FR today or is it just me? Maybe my old Dell aint what she used to be, or maybe I have just forgotten how to post, but I am having nothing but trouble with FR today.
Yes, BLT is about Black victimhood, but it is much more than that. Black Liberation Theology is a political organizing practice that utilizes religion to unite a particular group of workers and motivate them to rebel against capitalist domination. That’s why Wright kept telling them not to aspire to white middleclassness. If the Blacks joined the whites and became a part of our capitalist society, the Marxist struggle would be ended.
If the Blacks joined the whites and became a part of our capitalist society, the Marxist struggle would be ended.
It just occurred to me that this is why Wright turned on Obama. Obama was trying to come across as a uniter, as a candidate that transcends the color barrier, as everything Wright was warning against.
It may be the fact that thoughout the history of some of the various churches and denominations, an abundance of wealth (ie being a wealthy person) was proof that that person was not one of the elect.
Now it is misguided. The fact you have wealth does not automatically make you NOT one of God’s elect. Same with power. Joseph, Daniel, David, Solomon - all examples of both power and either being the #3, #2 or the #1 guy in the land.
Aiming for middle class (ie a better life than poverty) is not immoral, especially when honest work is done to acquire it. Aiming for middle class is also not aiming for ‘rich’. There is really no inherent goodness in remaining poor. Most people have a desire to escape it. They thank God as life gets better for them.
I should also mention Job, being the wealthiest man in his area, being a righteous (not perfect) man.
Noah was also a wealthy man (with enough resources to build a massive ark), and he was known as a righteous man.
What is meant by “Black work ethic”?
Good question. It seems to me that a work ethic is a work ethic no matter what color your skin may be. The online Farlex encyclopedia/dictionary defines "work ethic" as "A set of values based on the moral virtues of hard work and diligence."
I don't see anything there that implies that only one race has a work ethic, or that implies that the work ethic is endemic to either the black or white race.
Conservatives base their politics on their morals; liberals base their morals on their politics...
