Ron Paul supporters not lining up behind McCain

As far as John McCain is concerned, the Republican presidential nomination is a done deal and the party is united behind him. But thousands of Republicans -- particularly supporters of Texas Rep. Ron Paul -- aren't buying that.
In the Pennsylvania primary, more than 215,000 Republicans cast ballots for Paul or former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who together captured 27% of the vote.
And that was tame compared with the uproar last weekend at Nevada's Republican Party Convention.
About 600 well-organized Paul supporters overwhelmed McCain's forces and engineered a rule change that permitted national convention delegates to be nominated from the floor, wresting the task from party leaders.

All of which suggests there might be some drama at the GOP's national convention in September after all.
Ron Paul is "Staying Alive" after all. :-)

Of course not, they’ll cross back over to the Democrat party and vote for Obama. He’s young, sexy, and articulate. Their job is done.

If these are mostly libertarian types, they could be looking to vote for the Democrat candidate anyway.
We’ll have to just wait and see.

The average RINO Paul supporter is probably too young to vote and is too stoned to come out of their parents’ basement.

Ron Paul supporters had no intention of supporting anyone who's not named "Ron Paul". Talk to some his kool-aid drinkers here and you'll find out they think the other 434 members of Congress are all "statist new world order globalist war mongering marxists" and Ron Paul is ONLY person on the entire planet who "understands" the constitution. They probably think he wrote the thing himself and James Madison just took notes.
The GOP could have nominated Thomas Jefferson himself and the Paulites would have cited the Louisiana Purchase as proof that Jefferson is an "unconstitutional intrusion" who wants to destroy America.

I note folks on this thread are pretty upset that the Paul folks got the delegate nominating process altered. Say what you will, but I would like a conservative to lead the party this fall. If Paul’s folks are able to work their magic on the convention floor, couldn’t other people pull a switcheroo and get a more conservative person to lead?
I’ll tell ya, if the Paul folks get the rules changed and we are able to pick someone other than him or McCain, he and they may have done this nation an amazing bit of service.
All the more power to them, if that is the case.
Open this convention up. To hell with McCain.

Just going by past election cycles.
In the past many boast of voting for the Democrat, so after several times of seeing such posts, I believe a number of them really do.
It WOULD indeed be nice if I was wrong.

My point is, if the proces is opened up, Paul wouldn’t have to be the sole beneficiary. If his folks would be free to pick him, then the other delegates would be free to pick who they wanted too.
McCain could be sitting on the platform with no limo to take him home, if that happened.
I am an ‘any Conservative will do, but most definatly not McCain or Paul’ supporter.

Ron Paul has less chance than a blind pig finding an acorn.. America does not want a conservative,, John McLaim cannot and will not be elected.. Because some observe him as a conservative.. The weasle is a scorpion..
America WANTS a Vampire as President.. either Borat or Hillary..
The question: is America a land of the UNDEAD?..

the Paulites would have cited the Louisiana Purchase as proof that Jefferson is an "unconstitutional intrusion" who wants to destroy America. Incidentally, Jefferson himself thought the purchase was unconstitutional, and drafted up a Constitutional amendment to cover it. Then he realized ratification would take too long and Napoleon might change his mind in the interim. Jeff was actually more flexible and realistic than Ron Paul.
To: DoughtyOne
Romney will get killed on the Mormon issue (the media will link him with FLDS), Hunter had no support, Huckabee is not as conservative as he claimed, Rudy is a liberal, that leaves Thompson who was just about everyone’s either first or second choice anyway.

If you can’t bend, you snap and there are many Paulites on FR who have snapped long ago.
They are Useful Idiots for the Left as that is who wins in the end.
McCain not my first choice but he supports far more conservative and moderate issues than the far left Obama or Hitlery who will be the winners thanks to the Paulites

Paul’s not a conservative, he’;s a libertarian kook who allies himself with racists and sees conspiracies everywhere. The last straw was blaming us for 9/11.
