Iran to UK: Don't Cross "Red Lines" in Atomic Offer

Iran told Britain not to cross any "red lines" when preparing incentives for the Islamic Republic aimed at ending a row with the West over Tehran's nuclear program, the Iranian foreign minister said on Saturday.

World powers met in London on Friday and said they would offer new incentives to encourage Iran to halt nuclear work which the West fears is aimed at building atomic bombs.

Iran refused the last such offer made in 2006 and officials have in the past described a demand that Iran suspend its uranium enrichment program as a "red line". They say it is Iran's right to carry out such work and say the aim is peaceful.

Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr said he met his British counterpart, David Miliband, in Kuwait recently. Britain and Iran attended a multilateral meeting there on Iraq last month.

Miliband had said world powers would meet in May and planned to "write a letter" to Tehran, Mottaki said.

"I told him that 'You have used a word, and I think it is a forbidden word ... Don't pass those red lines. Be careful about that'," Mottaki said without saying what those "red lines" were.

Mottaki was speaking at a news conference with a visiting Yemeni minister broadcast and translated by Iran's Press TV.

"We have not received any letter in this connection," Mottaki was quoted by ISNA news agency as saying when asked about a new offer by the six world powers, comprising the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China.

Iran, the world's fourth largest oil producer, says it wants only to make fuel for power plants. The enrichment process, if desired, can also be used to make material for bombs.

The unimitigated brazeness that these arrogant miscreants demonstrate seems to get more audacious by the day.

Who the hell are they to make such intimidating demands in defining how, what the UK must insist are any conditions Iran must comply with, fundamentally, that Iran suspend its enrichment program or else? What sort of negotiating front are we supposed to present to Iran if they make demands that defeat the very raison d'etre for the negotiations in the alarming tone they have?

The only reason I might consider voting for John McCain would be if he didn't 'suggest' (as did Hiliarly) that he would 'obliterate' Iran if they attacked Israel, but if he actually *promised* to carry out that Beach Boy's tune he improvised,

"Bomb Bomb Bomb, Bomb Bomb Iran!"

Q - How many Iranian mullahs does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

A - We don't know, they're too busy trying to screw with the rest of the world.

Is it just me, or does anyone else ever wonder if the Raytheon marketing department is in charge of the goverment in Iran? Or at least make campaign contributions?

War, “Hot War”, with Iran is inevitable, the only question is when.

Unfortunately, so far, the joke's on us. I say, so far because I desperately hope we will soon wipe the collective moronic smirk off of their towel-headed faces very, very soon.

Well, they expect us to put up the same negotiating front the West always does - pretty much none. Read John Bolton's book 'Surrender Is Not an Aoption' to see why the mullahs are deep into belly laughs about the Wests idea of 'negotiation', which is pretty much equivalent to slow motion surrendering.

This is the last offer Iran will get. All the pieces are falling into place. This gives Security COuncil members cover in the sense that Iran was offered a last chance - an important accomodation before the bombing campaign begins.

Life imitates art. Hans Blix in "Team America" to Kim Jong-Il: "We will write you a letter, telling you how angry we are!"
