Good morning, Alas!
Can I take an entire hour of Obama. I’m not sure.
I’m not sure any interviewer is going to ask Obama anything even close to a tough question after the pounding Stephie and John Gibson took from the MSM.
One of the F&F morning ditzes (the new guy seated on the right) did say earlier than, if the Dems bring up the McCain-Hagee connection, that that would re-open the Obama-Wright controversy in the fall.
Luntz then did a segment that college students were living in fear of the economy and the aftermath of the Bush2 Administration.
[One male student countered to the female whiner with ‘are you still going to be blaming the Bush admin when you are 60? Grow up. Our parents lived through rough years and they made it.’]
So, will Russert have his frowny-face for the Obama interview.
Will Steffie ask Clinton the difficult question — pearls or diamonds?
Good morning AB and everyone.
Could be an interesting morning of sound bites.
It's a good thing we are here to "right" the balance.... I just saw a few agonizing moments viewing the fat Chrissy weekend show.
He was actually salivating at having scored a gotcha moment against McPain.
. He caught McCain(and rightly so) interjecting the relationship between oil and the nations security. Something the rats are incapable of chatting about without getting in a tizzy.
Of course Matthews immediately did the left wing translation of spending black troops bodies for oil which has been yet another rat stream fable for years now yet holds little water in reality.
Of course our guy correctly explained to Matthews that we are in Iraq and several other countries due to the WOT which the rats don't even know exists since everything is a police matter to their side.
Anyone who cannot see the relationship between energy security and the welfare of a nation is blinded by ideology as most rats are.
I could be wrong but it would not surprise me if more than one pundit asked harder questions the time around. I’m not O’Reilly fan but he did ask Hillary better questions than these so-called experts so it might be they will try to do better.
Another comment those kids made showed how old media has influenced them and they sounded like they are beginning to question all the negative news they always get.
One of the incredibly dumb things I have heard often is that when we become energy independent, those evil oil producing countries won’t have our petrodollars to prop up their corrupt regimes.
Apparently they are unaware that there are other countries out there besides the US who buy and use oil and will be perfectly happy to step into the breach.
I think she could do the country much harm if elected.
Probably more than boma since she knows her way around the halls of Congress a little better.
Morning rodguy,
Roof seats will be going for a premium IF I build the platform needed to see it all. Otherwise, we’ll have to settle for listening to the noises and watching the smoke rise.
Mathews is no worse than other Democrats. Their game is to play race as an issue when it isn’t, and to ignore relationships of economics to world politics. Symbolism over substance means they don’t have to understand How The World Works.
So just who is John McCain's preacher, and why have we never heard about that person? How about Hillary Clinton's preacher?
Might make a nice compare and contrast story, especially considering Jeremiah Wright's track record. I'm guessing that if the other two people have a home-town preacher, that person is too boring for the media to cover.
I had to laugh when Hillary wanted to redefine the meaning of “is” again. She wants sanctuary cities to be sanctuary cities and not. She obviously wants it both ways so she will be correct on the issue no matter what side she’s on.

How about stadium seating at the MID casa, maybe 8 or 10 rows up! You could singlehandedly eliminate the deficit for Colorado just from sales tax collections.!
Thanks for the thread - good morning all
Hi folks was offline last month. (Too much potato salad for my computer, I think).
I see the GOP is being represented by a failed computer exec and Lindsay Graham. This is probably as good as it will get for the next 4 years.
Morning snugs,
Is the change in London to conservatives the real deal or just a bump in the road because the old mayor was so radical?
Good morning, snugs.
We are all atwitter over Red Ken’s loss in London, although I must say that the new guy looks a little strange.
I see both Russert and Stephanapoulus will be having love-ins...
Probably more than boma since she knows her way around the halls of Congress a little better.
Obama would be stymied by both parties... if he managed to beat McCain(which I don't think he can). Rodham and the Rapist would get the 'green light' from their party... and easily snooker the Snowe's, Collins's, McCain's, Lugar's...
HRC is the most dangerous threat... and she always was.
[One male student countered to the female whiner with are you still going to be blaming the Bush admin when you are 60? Grow up. Our parents lived through rough years and they made it.]
I got a growl and scowl when I showed this graph to one of the libs I work with when he was complaining about the price of diesel fuel and how much more it was costing him to commute lately. I told him to look at the price in 10/24/2007 and 4/24/2008.
Then, I asked him what happened in Nov 06. He had the "deer in the headlights" look. I told him, "that is when people like you voted the dims into office". No answer to that and just a scowl as he walked away. He was PO'ed to say the least.
Obama is accusing the Rev. of wanting the spotlight.
Timmy is just letting him go on and on with his prepared script (none of you will be surprised at this, I know).
Why did you wait so long, asks Timmy? And he replays a bit from the Philly speech. Timmy’s tone is gentle and concerned.
Did ya’ll know that Rev. Wright was once a Marine? LOL. That’ll fix the whole thing.
LOL!
Obama is very slick
living in fear of the economy and the aftermath of the Bush2 Administration.
#####
a very good response to this sentiment is that the economy has been in trouble since the Dems took over in Congress. If we get a dem president, look for worsening economy. Socialism or overbearing government meddling only hurts economies.
Chris W has come out swinging with Dean on Fox.
Murray said, that bin Laden has been “out in these countries for decades, building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day care facilities, building health care facilities, ..........”
Russert’s first question: the Wright controversy.
Obama gives his standard spin, somewhat distancing himself from Wright's comments.
Russert brings up video of the ‘I can no more disown him...’ and then shows the later video of ‘his comments were divisive and destruction...and they should be denounced...’
Obama claims that those previous videos/audios were spiced from various sermons and Obama pleads ignorance about hearing those comments previously. Obama claims he apparently didn't know Wright as well as he though he did.
[Duh! If someone baptizes the kids, performs the marriage, and has been a personal mentor for 20 years, you should know the fundamental beliefs of that person.]
[Russert seems to be attempting to give Obama a forum to rehabilitate himself, rather than really taking Obama to task on the differences Obama claims now to have with the Rev.]
She already has one, Rod:
LOL. Ya think!!!!
I can’t believe Dean just said bringing up the Rev. Wright is “race-baiting”.
Thanks for play-by-play...unable to watch this til later.
Maybe Timmy will get tougher later in the interview...(snort)
If Obama is elected, look for Ms Pelosi to become even more of a dictator than she is now. She continues to change House Rules and no one, apparently, is interested instopping her.
Lot os people believe that she is anti-Hillary because she (Pelosi) wants to be Queen Bee.
It usually takes grads about 5 years or so in the real world to start to ‘wake up’, unless they live in Marin County, CA.

Hi TomGuy,
Back in the 90s I was what they called in college, a re-entry student. AKA, not a twentysomething. In one of my classes on the US Civil War, I actually ran into “White Guilt”. The males in our round-table discussion group were agonizing over slavery. Talk about sickening. I finally had enough and looked one kid square in the eye and asked, “Are you responsible for things men and women did over a hundred years ago that you had absolutely no control over?” The kid didn’t have an answer but continued, like a barnyard pig, to wallow in his guilt. My opinion is he felt comfortable there. So maybe you are right. Once these inmature dummies gets out into real life, it might take a few years to turn “Right”.
He just said that his grandfather fought in Patton’s army again.
In his book he says that his grandfather never saw combat.
He’s a goner unless and until he specifically addresses black liberation theology and why he chose that church.
That’s not to say he can do so. Either he embraced the theology of his church or he chose a church simply because of the political cred it gave him, making him disingenuous.
Tim, how ‘bout asking him how often he went to church.
Did he ever discuss black liberation theology with Wright OR OTHER CHURCH MEMBERS.
Was he just completely clueless as to what his chosen church stood for?
(Funny how they always found time to ask Mitt about those things)
And, of course, the most important question:
Have you talked to Oprah lately?
Thanks Lacey, maybe it will be good TV this morning.
Hey big guy,
For the record, we miss your wonderful insights and comments here on the Sunday thread!
hoep to see you back someday!
All: Off topic, but if you want to add your comments to this, feel free! I meant to add this to the top of the thread, but a kid problem at Fotress Babylon distracted my posting.
When I watched Wright at the National Press Club, I didn't ‘bat’ an eye. I have lost count of the number of people who have told me what Wright mentioned. In fact I wrote down the books he suggested to read, and researched them.
I'm in the middle of a book series about the Marine Corps in WWII, Wright would have fit right in as a character! :-)
