Even as the MSM wing of the party warns fellow Democrats that the prolonged WWE-style grudge match between Barack Obama and the Clinton machine may tear the party apart...they may already have identified an issue they hope the party can coalesce around, like some sort of political superglue.
Lesley Stahls 60 Minutes profile of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia spent an inordinate amount of time mis-stating facts about an eight-year old legal issue: Of all the cases that have come before him on the court, Bush v. Gore may have been the most controversial. It has been reported that he played a pivotal role in urging the other justices to end the Florida recount, thereby handing the 2000 election to George Bush.

Interesting take on why last week's 60 Minutes profile of Antonin Scalia spent a full two minutes re-hashing the 2000 Florida vote recounts. Could the Dems' plan to re-unify a divided party be to rally them around their hatred of George Bush?

There is only one reason why the Bush bashing is all the rage: The 2000 elections. It’s all about 2000; always has been.

Probably a fair assessment of their strategy for party “unity.” They have nothing else, but a philosophy that’s about 100 years out of date.

Some caller on the C-Span call-in show this morning made a comment about people in Florida being upset about their votes not counting, and I realized that I have never heard an ordinary Florida or Michigan Democrat complain about their votes not counting. Interesting.
Maybe they just don't want to be part of the whole thing.

This weekend I attended our monthly meeting of Subvets. It's very sad thing, but many of the WW II SubVet bases are closing down, and some of their remaining members are now attending meetings with us. One of the gentlemen who was attending his first meeting with us stood up and told us about his service during the war. He was at Sub Base Pearl Harbor on Dec 7th. It was a riveting story. Then he told us about the only thing that he was ASHAMED of during his time on subs. He was a crewmember of USS Finback, the sub that rescued George H.W. Bush after he was shot down. He said that he expected that god would punish him for that. This comment was met by sort of a stunned silence, then we moved on. The hate is old, the hate is deep, the hate is vile.

The hate is old, the hate is deep, the hate is vile. Yep, and it sounds just like the hate from BO's "spiritual adviser" for over 20 years. Just another member of the "hate America" leftist crowd. One of these days, that hate will consume their soul.

Can’t help but laugh that Lesley Stahl stated as fact that the Supreme Court handed the election to Bush, even though CBS’s own reporting stated that the recounts the court halted would have increased Bush’s margin of victory. As Scalia said in the 60 Minutes piece, “Get over it.”

The hate is old, the hate is deep, the hate is vile.
The hate and/or lies are never challenged or confronted, but are allowed to fester and turn into the eruptions we are seeing in this country everyday. The hate and the lies have become truth to many.

Lesley Stahl rehashes 2000 election votes that were counted and recounted while Chairman Dean completely refuses all Democrat 2008 election primary votes. Dean will only seat the delegates when their votes won’t matter.

Could it also be that the HBO ( Hate Bush Often ) cable network has a new movie coming out soon called “Recount,” about this very subject?
Maybe it's just me but it seems these days that before any controversial movie comes out, the news seems to stir up that very subject again. I don't think it's just coincidence.

I realized that I have never heard an ordinary Florida or Michigan Democrat complain about their votes not counting. Interesting.
We really don't move in those circles, do we? ;^)
But I have heard or read quite a few comments about the primary election fiasco from dems here in Florida.
Mostly, they are pretty POed about the whole thing, and without Hillary, the Dems have no chance here.
I would predict a record LOW turnout for the Dems in November if it is Obama.
McCain wins vs Obama in Florida.
