Hard to keep a stiff upper lip without a proper cup of tea.

Blimey. If they don’t have their morning tea ( or coffee on this side of the pond ) no work will get done post nuke unless we stockpile it now!!!

“..there would be a dramatic shortage of tea in the aftermath of a nuclear attack..”
But what about the crumpets that are part of the afternoon tea? Will they too disappear? Oh, the horror!!

I would rather have emergency tea planning than the plans the US government had for getting out tax forms after a nuclear war.

I say! That would be a bit of a sticky wicket, what?
To: Redcitizen
That’s a piss-poor thing to be concerned about! What about really important issues? Where would you get your beer after a Nuclear War???!!!

This reminds me of George Carlin’s bit about Al Sleet, the Hippy, Dippy Weatherman. Al was reporting a line of thunderstorms approaching the listening area but then added, “The radar is also picking up a line of Russian ICBMs. Soooo, I wouldn’t sweat the thunderstorms.”

Must be a morale thing. That's what I think too. With me it would coffee, but I have that base already covered.

Tea is very expensive in China, too. I drink it all day, without sugar. I brew it fresh and drink weak ice tea all day. It keeps me away from coffee, cokes, etc. I hope we don’t have a problem of shortages of it here in US.

We can learn from this. Post nuclear-war, I won’t be able to download music, get cable TV, or buy Red Bull. I’m downloading MP3s, buying DVDs, and stocking up on soft drinks like a madman now!

The bright side is we wouldn’t have to listen to day time TV or worry about the latest fad diet.
OTOH, a lack of Coca Cola would have me concerned.

WHAT!!!!!
This is poor planning at its highest. No Tea?!!!
The Empire was forged on cups of tea, and I suppose, fell to pieces on cups of tea too. I would surrender myself to the side with the most tea bags left.
Hahaha.

But they didnt give a damn about the consequences when putting a tax on American tea. It must have really stressed the British when the Patriots dumped the tea in Boston harbor. The textbooks never explained why this was such a bold move. Now we know.

See, they learned their lesson from back then. Now they think about consequences before the event and plan accordingly.

Have you had Twinings? If so how does it compare to PG? I prefer loose tea and PG doesn't sell it that way, so I have not tried it.

I like twining flavoured tea, but find their regular too bitter. With 3+ kids, I depend on bags, but for loose tea I like Typhoo. You can find it at Cost Plus World Market, along with other necessities like Jammie Dodgers, Hob Nobs, Jelly Babies, and Tim Tams :)

Tim Tams are very good. I tried doing the Tim Tam Slam, but it didn’t work out.
