WASHINGTON — Running out of high-dollar donors, Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign is stepping up its Internet appeals in hopes of attracting enough contributions to keep afloat financially in the last stretch of Democratic primaries, aides say.
As the marathon money chase has strained the limits of traditional campaign fundraising, Clinton aides have sought increasingly to shadow rival Barack Obama's Internet juggernaut that has raised more than $112 million via the Web,
Through March 31, Clinton had corralled 70 percent of her $148 million in individual primary donations in amounts over $200, including $82 million from those giving between $1,000 and the maximum of $2,300, according to an analysis by the nonpartisan Campaign Finance Institute.
Now, a senior Clinton fundraising operative confided, big donors are nearly tapped out.

What do you think the chances of this happening are?
I previously thought that Hillary would probably stop just short of this sort of thing, reasoning* that she won’t “go nuclear” because failure at the polls after doing so would mean that her political career was over. One can only burn so many bridges.
I’m not so sure anymore. I now fully expect her to do something like this at or before the convention in Denver.
All I can say is: Laissez les bon temps roulez!
*Which itself is probably unreasonable when you are discussing the Clintons.

Odds of it actually being successfully accomplished, on the other hand?, 10, maybe 15%, absolutely maximum. Maybe.
Bottom line, as I see it: the head 'rats -- the actual, genuine movers and shakers within said party -- can handle simple numerical addition readily enough. Confirmed 1.2 million new baby 'rats registered specifically on Obama's electoral behalf + 112 raised in the last 2 -3 months + the fact that the 'rat voting "base" actively loathes and despises Hillary = N-O D-I-C-E. ;)

It depends on how you look at it, I guess. I have always thought that the claims that the Clinton's have blackmail materials/FBI files on their many "friends and supporters" was sort of silly. But I really do wonder how she has been allowed to continue her scorched earth policy against Obama, a member of her own party. I see three possibilities:
1). Howard Dean & the Democratic Party leadership are bumbling idiots who cannot control Hurricane Hillary.
2). There is simply no way to control someone who may have stated to Dem leadership that they will not go down without a war
3). Those FBI files really exist and she plans to use them to win at the convention. :D
I'm not sure which I think is true at this point, but I have never seen anything like this before. She seems completely willing to trash her party, her friends, her allies, the convention, elections for decades to come, and her own comfy political position to win this.
