A comparison can be made between Obamas popularity among blacks and the popular support among blacks of OJs Simpson. Despite all the evidence, both of these men are held up to be symbolic heroes and great hopes for their race.
Whats going on here?
Perhaps maybe driven by our national racial divide, perhaps the cause for this similarity is the utter abandonment of reason among blacks for the hope of the gaining something for the race: one injustice served makes payment against the many judicial injustices served on blacks since the 17th century and the mere hope of getting a brother into the White House helps resolve centuries of unequal political treatment.
Perhaps the cause is simply rooted in the get whitey mentality.
Barack throws Wright under the train. And although Rev. Wright represents the black liberation theology that philosophy sounds radical to my ears but may echo the private thoughts of many blacks. For many blacks, its not important if Barack agrees or disagrees with Wright. Whats important is that Barack is black. If they disagree with Wright, they can support Obama. If they agree with Wright, they can support Barack anyway. They just set reason aside because Obama is the personification of overcoming.
Did most blacks think OJ was guilty? Does it matter? Guilty or innocent OJ overcame the (appearance of) white prosecution of a black man. Do most blacks think Barack is better suited to be President than any other candidate? Does it matter?
I had seen a YouTube video in which a young black fellow went off in support of Barry- saying that Wright was jealous of B. Hussains power. It got me thinking...
It’s called Tribal Myopic Racism.
“Despite all the evidence, both of these men are held up to be symbolic heroes and great hopes for their race.”
You have to be kidding me!!! There is no hope for the black race if this is true!!!!!
Naaa, He’s a “Tom”./sarc
Do most blacks think Barack is better suited to be President than any other candidate? Does it matter?
It does not matter to the whack left media for sure!
Clarence Thomas -- my absolute most-admired individual on the planet today! Thanks for the great pic!
..and he crossed my mind also.
Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell, and Condoleezza Rice also came to mind.
But these "brothers" and "sisters" is not "black enough."
They're labeled as "Uncle Toms" or "Oreos."
In order to get the kind (!) of support that Obama gets, the candidate must have a "flavah" that authenticates him/her. It's not education, it's not sound philosophy (e.g. Bill Cosby).
It's the liberation brand - identification with suffering...
Have we heard what Mr. Cosby thinks of Barry HUSSEIN Obama?
I have wondered about that for awhile but haven’t seen noe heard yet.
Aloha kakou
Man, please don’t start on this! Race relations have already taken a step back, now let’s pull together and move it forward again.
No matter what comes to light, he’ll have the juice vote locked in solid.
