THE office computer of suspended Power Authority Inspector General Daniel Wiese was "wiped totally clean" of e-mails and other records just days before being seized by investigators probing an alleged State Police dirty-tricks squad, The Post has learned.
The computer, believed to contain sensitive details of Wiese's communications with State Police officials, was grabbed last month at the Power Authority's headquarters in White Plains under a subpoena issued by the office of Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, a source close to the authority said.

If the guy was smart enough to have the drive scrubbed on a routine basis he was smart enough to create an encrypted virtual drive on his local machine to store compromising information on.
Did the congress pass a law that a business “must” maintain all emails for a period of time (i.e. like some number of years). But then again, I guess, government entities are exempt . . .
Perhaps you could explain to me how to map all temp files to ram so they don't need to be wiped. :)
Erasing hard drives?
Sure sign of guilt-—suckers have a lot to hide.
There’s more than one way to nail this corruption.
The IRS has noted that “public authorities” are massive repositories of government fruad, IRS evasion and money laundering.
Now if these suckers were wire-transferring monies from govt coffers, the banks would have records of all the transactions.
Banks should be forced to reveal records of all the authority insiders with accounts for which the bank was, say, wiring money offshore.
ALSO: we need to see all the SEC reports and amended reports, to determine if any of these people were listed as CEO’s, treasurers or partners in companies doing business with the authority (might have offshore addresses-—say Tortola, BVI).
Permissions.
But let's face it...if someone REALLY wants to pull crap on a work computer and they want to get around anything the admin has in place to catch them....They're gonna bring in an encrypted laptop and Clearwire their internet connection.
This guy obviously wasn't that smart because he had to wipe the drive.
Let’s hope they nail it with a ball peen hammer.
Right, won't happen. And NY sheeple can't wait to get to the polls in November to vote for the next DemocRat...
Just do it.
Unlikely, I think. They don’t want their golden boy rotting in the state pen. Of course, the feds might not care if he rots for his callgirl duplicity.
Okay by me.
LOL
Maybe not.
I keep a 32 pass, DoD certified wipe program on my tool kit CD. WHen I wipe a drive, it is wiped.
Doing a bare metal build is so much easier on a clean drive.
He must feel really bad now that he’s suspended with pay...
Ping.
