Gore speaks on Democratic race

Al Gore did not rule out an endorsement in the Democratic presidential race, but all but ruled out a speculative scenario some have spun out as the battle between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama goes on and on -- namely, that he would emerge as a compromise nominee with either Clinton or Obama as his running mate. In an interview today on National Public Radio, Gore at first laughed and was somewhat at a loss for words when he was asked about the scenario. "In a year of remote contingencies, that's about as remote as you could possibly imagine," he replied. He also expressed confidence that a nominee will be decided soon after the last nomination contests on June 3. "There will be a nominee before the convention," he said. Gore -- former vice president, Democratic nominee in 2000, and Nobel Prize winner for his work to combat global warming -- is probably one of the few party leaders with the standing to help bring the nomination fight to a close.

Does anybody really care what Al has to say anymore?

Did you see the link on Drudge that has Gore blaming the Myanmar cyclone on global warming?

What a jerk.

AlGore’s motivation is twofold.

One, he is looking for attention. He may have expected the two candidates to come bowing and scraping at his door, looking for the Goracle to anoint one or the other. He must be saddened to see that neither, or most anyone else, really cares that much what he thinks.

Two, he is looking to sell his support to the highest bidder. What he wants from a Dem President is anyone's guess, but it probably dovetails into ‘global warming’, ‘carbon credits’ and profiting immensely from some variation of the theme.

AlGore might have even had visions of riding in as the white knight and saving the Democrat Party from itself. Who knows what's going on in that head of his?

The manmade global warming fanatics are his audience, profiting from the scam is his mission.

No question about it, having a license to print money is just about as good a gig as you can get. Plus, you have the luxury of the earth's rather clockwork like natural disasters to point to as proof you are a true prophet.

When Algore starts assigning to "man" what is clearly God's awesome power, and blatantly and continually profits from the misery of others, well...I wouldn't stand next to this guy when lightning is about.

I'm surprised he didn't blame George Bush.

He doesn’t want an “office” job unless it is a lifetime appointment. Too great a chance for exposure as a fraud if someone has to take over the reigns of the operation.

Right. Real prophets predict the future, Al Gore whines about the past.

My guess is if he endorses someone, that candidate gets the nomination. By staying on the sideline, he can hope for a deadlock and back into the nomination. Pretending he doesn’t want the nomination only increases his “allure”.
