QUOTE OF THE DAY:
President Bush called on Myanmar's military junta on Tuesday to allow the United States to provide disaster assistance after a devastating cyclone.
"The United States has made an initial aid contribution but we want to do a lot more," Bush said in the Oval Office. "We're prepared to move U.S. Navy assets to help find those who have lost their lives, to help find the missing, to help stabilize the situation. But in order to do so, the military junta must allow our disaster assessment teams into the country."
"So our message is to the military rulers: let the United States come and help you help the people," Bush said.
Thank you for the Dose, daisy scarlett.

Hi
You win the toaster!

Hi Kas, Thanks for trading spots with me. It worked out real well, the photos came up early today.
WOO HOO!
I want the one of the President with the Marines standing guard in the background,please..
Thank you for posting the Dose tonight! I look forward to seeing all the great pics of the president.
Great pictures of Military Spouses Day. They are the backbone of the military and the main reason that the guys/gals fight so hard!
That is from the WH Website snugs, W and the Marines..good choice.
W looked like he was having a blast with all those lovely wives. I know many military wives as we live in a Navy town and they sure do sacrifice for our country as much as their hubbies do.
you’re very welcome! Great photos
daisyscarlett: Thank you for posting these AWESOME photos tonight . . . I particularly enjoyed the photos featuring the many BUSH BABES (aka military wives) at today’s White House event — they put my sisters and I to shame (and we were VERY ‘enthusiastic’ when we met the President)!!

WILL ECONOMY BOOST GOP’S FALL FORTUNES?
By LAWRENCE KUDLOW
President Bush may turn out to be the top economic forecaster in the country.
About a month ago, he told reporters, “We’re not in a recession we’re in a slowdown.”
At a White House news conference a few weeks later, despite the fact that reporters pressed him to use the “R” word, Bush refused.
And last Friday, after the most recent jobs report which produced a much-smaller-than-expected decline in corporate payrolls, a huge 362,000 increase in the more entrepreneurial household survey (the best gain in five months) and a historically low 5% unemployment rate (4.95%, to be precise) the president told reporters:
“This economy is going to come on. I’m confident it will.”

I like Phil Vassar! He sings two of my favorite songs, “Just Another Day in Paradise”, and “Carlene”.
Maybe we should send the pic of President Bush with his hand on his heart during the national anthem to Mr. Obama, who seems to need training in this area.
Recessionistas! I love it!
I liked the ones with the wives, too. What a fun day for them. I did not even know about Military Wives Day...learn new things all the time on the Dose, don’t we. If not from the photo captions, then from the great links you post so consistently.
Thanks for tongiht’s Dos daisy! Just got home from pub watching the Indians win & the Cavaliers loose.
I had met Torijjios dad when we lived in Panama.. he was also president & looks a lot like his son (or vice versa)...Dad was considered a powerful (and not so nice) dictator.. not of the caliber of the monsters like Hussien or Kim but very controlling. He was in also head of/ in charge of the LaGuardia Nationale.-which was. the military ..General Torijjos is what he was called
The military spouse function looked like a happy event for all concerned.
