Replacement Obama Pastor Just As Controversial As Wright
Newsmax ^ | May 7, 2008 | Newsmax Staff

Barack Obama has finally distanced himself from Rev. Jeremiah Wright after a_20-year_relationship, but the pastor who is replacing Wright at Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ is likely to be just as controversial.

New Trinity pastor Otis Moss has called Biblical patriarch Abraham a “pimp” and made other statements many would consider offensive.

After Obama called Wright’s comments “divisive and destructive,” a questioner noted that Rev. Moss has defended Wright and asked if Obama would continue attending the church.

“Well, the new pastor, the young pastor, Reverend Otis Moss, is a wonderful young pastor,” Obama responded. “And as I said, I still very much value the Trinity community.”

Moss, the 37-year-old “hip-hop pastor,” as he’s called by congregants, will become head of Trinity in June, after serving as an assistant pastor there for two years.

But a videotape of a sermon he delivered at Wright’s church shows this “wonderful young pastor” referring to “ghetto prophets” and “thug theology,” calling the late rapper Tupac Shakur a “prophet,” and reciting at length lyrics to Shakur’s song “Thugz Mansion.”

Moss also states in the sermon:

“Jesus has a soft spot for thugs.”

“God is always using thugs to do God’s work.”

“Everyone has a little bit of thug in them.”

Noah was a “thug” who “was drinking much gin and juice and got drunk on the eve of reconstruction.”

Abraham “pimped his own wife.”

Jacob was a “hustler” who “stole his own brother’s birthright.”

Moses was a “thug” and “if he got mad would give you a royal beatdown.”

Sampson was a “thug” and a “player.”

David was a “thug,” a “shot caller,” and a “player,” and a man after God’s own heart.

Well, I guess if you have to speak down to the level of your congregation to reach ‘em.......Now, I wonder which one would lead the White House prayer breakfast if Obama gets in?

Even the Bible must be reduced to its lowest common denominator and the language translated to Ebonics to “get across” to the sympathy slaves of the Black Liberation Theology ....

Integration of fire and water will not work...it only builds “steam”
One will eventually “extinguish” the other....

No shocker here. American voters, IMO, better wake up and start paying attention.

I agree. This just confirms that there are two sets of rules regarding racism.

Otis Moss is a thug, or so it would seem.

Ah yes, nothing quite like lauding thugs to make you point from the pulpit.

Oh, I’m sorry, I’m sure his reference to thuggery was taken out of context. But then, isn’t everything at that “church”?

This isn’t a Christian church, and the people profitting from it aren’t ministers. God must love stupid people, because He makes a lot of them.

Good ol' Otis will be in charge of:

pimping out all the Official WH rides
replacing limos with pink pimp cadillacs
requiring all WH staff to cronk their teeth
Flavor-Flav-ing Secret Service
mandating all WH correspondence begin with "Yo! Word up!"

Hey, any criticism of these statements is an attack on the “Black Church”!

These are the very same parishioners complaining the most about being “disrespected” by non-black society...

Well — if they behave as fools, talk like fools, follow fools, elect fools and ignore facts as fools — almost any rational educated person would consider them fools.

It’s very difficult to respect a fool, and dangerous to trust one.

The Rev. Otis:
Tupak Shakur. "It is my assessment he is the greatest prophetic contradiction of the last half of the 20th Century of the black community birth..."

The Rev. Otis:

Shake off your bourgeois paradigms
for just a moment...
Everybody has some thug proclivities,
Some ghetto tendencies,
Some countrified activities -
This is derivative of country and ghetto.

Say what?

“Jesus has a soft spot for thugs.”

“God is always using thugs to do God’s work.”

“Everyone has a little bit of thug in them.”

The ‘devil’ never tells an outright lie.

There’s always a grain of “truth” to it.

Of course we are ALL sinners (imperfect)and, therefore — loosely — can be called “thugs” ... if you will.

So he is telling his congregation — if indirectly — that it’s alright if they just happen to find themselves in the act of mugging someone (preferably ‘whitey’).

After all, god loves those thugs!

You are a great example of speaking with a grain of “truth” when you put words in his mouth. I highly doubt that is what he meant. I would guess he was doing what most white preachers do, offer the hope of God’s love to those are lost in sin.

Learn about Donald Young, the recently murdered gay choir director of Obama’s church (who may have been killed, to silence Larry Sinclair or others, who claim to have been involved with gay sex and drugs with Obama):

"Moss, the 37-year-old “hip-hop pastor,” as he’s called by congregants, will become head of Trinity in June, after serving as an assistant pastor there for two years."

This is a point that the media has willingly deceived people about -- Obama started referring to Jeremiah Wright as his 'former' pastor but before the controversy erupted Wright was/is still the official pastor of Trinity and was only to be leaving in June.... Wright was also an official part of Obama's campaign advisory staff..... then suddenly it became embarrassing to have a radical racist like Wright around and the media cooperated in allowing Obama to pretend it was all in the past.... but this was a very CURRENT relationship, and now the new pastor will be just as bad.

First, I never compared Moss with what white preachers ‘do’ or — for that mater — what other black preachers ‘do.’

But I do know about the racist, genocidal ‘black liberation theology’ that underpinned the sermons at trinity of his predecessor — reverend wright.

Sermons that Wright delivered for 35 years.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1990117/posts

In view of the above you will have to forgive me if I am less than sanguine about anything that comes from reverend Wrights successor’s mouth.

You ‘guess’ that he’s ‘offering’ the hope of God’s love to those are lost in sin.

And my ‘guess’ is that HIS words (not mine) may be taken by some congregants — as justifying uncivilized behaver.

I would sincerely hope that his ‘offering’ of “the hope of God’s love to those lost in sin”(using the words that YOU put in his mouth)includes ALL of gods children — not just the ones with black bodies.

The door of love and tolerance swings both ways.

Thank you for your post.
