Mondale tried that tactic. We know how well that “I’ll be honest - I am going to tell you now that I will raise your taxes” idea worked.
What is a CEO in Obamas mind? It seems to me that his ideas pertaining to raising capital gains taxes will be taxing for everyone. He is already using the word “investment” when he really means “taxes” and bigger government with the only investment going to Washington DC. There is nothing new in Obama’s politics except the big smile. The difference now is the stain won’t be on a blue dress but on the flag.
I certainly hope that it doesn't occur to the Democrats that the mantra of "Gotta raise those taxes!" is not going to resonate with the electorate. And I think that this is particularly true when these taxes are presented as somehow punitive and retribution for economic success.

You mean Chicago for starters? Pandhandlers there are annoying and bet they make as much money as they would holding a regular job. Cannot stand people begging for money or food. My son was told at Subway that the guy outfront going hungry that was begging was on his 5th footlong sandwich of the day that people bought him and he sold to others.

Yep she’s a sensible judge. If you adhere to the ACLU worldview, then she’s a mainstream judge. Remember how Chuck Shumer and company did so much hand wringing that Roberts and Alito were “out of the mainstream”.
Ginsburg and John Paul Stevens are getting old. The next president will likely appoint their successors to the Supreme Court.
