LAKE ARROWHEAD, Calif. — A coyote grabbed a 2-year-old girl by the head and tried to drag her from the front yard of her mountain home in the third incident of a coyote threatening a small child in Southern California in five days, authorities said.

The coyote attacked the girl around noon Tuesday when her mother, Melissa Rowley, went inside the home for a moment to put away a camera, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said in an incident report.

Rowley came out of the house and saw the coyote dragging her daughter towards a street. She ran towards her daughter, and the animal released the girl and ran away, said sheriff's spokeswoman Arden Wiltshire.

This is because of global warming. The food suppy chain has begun its depletion, and now it’s only a matter of time before coyotes attack in waves.

I am dumbfounded by parents who do not stay with their young children. What moron leaves their young child unattended?

In each of these instances, an adult somehow got misdirected long enough for the Coyote to bite the child before they intervened.

When I had young kids, that coyote would have been dead meat before touching my child.

I guess they can’t get endangered status. They’re just humans.

Will be watching Greta then - what is DFG?

Of course PETA will blame the little girl and mom for being so inconsiderate of the coyote as to scream when it was carrying the child away for its next meal....denying this wonderful creature it’s “natural” ability to seek and find its food....

Rowley took her daughter to a hospital where the toddler was treated for several punctures to the head and neck area, and a laceration on her mouth. She was then flown to Loma Linda University Hospital for further treatment, although her injuries were not life-threatening.

It’s gonna take a few deaths to smarten up a california liberal into getting laws changed to control preditory wildlife.

10 more years and maybe the same amount of human deaths.

Liberals learning curves are pretty flat.

I lay the fault at the feet of the gun grabbing & controlling panty waisted pussies that think that coyotes should not be killed on sight. Coyotes will never be exterminated, they are survivors. Thinning the population will keep the children safe. Let's do it for the children. A coyote in my neighborhood knows to stay well out of sight and if it comes within 350 yards of me its a dead one.

You can’t watch them every minute and they need to learn independence. When my 3 y/o grand daughter comes over, I let her play by herself in the back yard. She doesn’t know that I watch her from the table though.

That kind of statement makes you sound like an idiot.

Thanks for your opinion, but who asked you?

Were you trying to spell California?

No. I know how to spell California, thanks. I learned how in the 3rd grade. My spelling was intentional: The starting "K" was in honor of your State's continuing down the leftist path, and the "fornicatia" portion was devoted to your State's love of sexual perversion in its myriad forms.

San Bernardino is a rock-solid conservative county, one of the most reliably conservative regions of the country.

Didn't know that, but am glad to hear it. You may consider a move, though. You are hopelessly outnumbered by the fruits and nuts in the rest of your State.

Thinning the population will keep the children safe.

It also teaches the survivors to be wary of humans, and makes them far less likely to view us as lunch.

Meanwhile, the wolf population grows, cougar are populating river bottoms and the breaks along the upper Missouri and its tributaries, and the dirt-worshippers still hate humans.
