Posted on 05/08/2008 7:04:34 PM PDT by tcg

In an interview with Matt Lauer of NBC, practicing Homosexual controversialist Bishop Gene Robinson announced plans to enter into a ‘Civil Union’ with his Male Paramour.

He told the interviewer it was “what God is telling me to do”

Just as the splintering Anglican Communion was preparing for its International Lambeth Conference. Just as the controversy surrounding the actions of some orthodox Anglicans planning an alternative Conference seemed to be out of the limelight. Right at this time,a controversialist Bishop named Gene Robinson once again enters the limelight to make himself the center of attention.

Painting himself as some new kind of “martyr”, the Bishop told Matt Lauer that he will enter into a “Civil Union” with his male partner of twenty years, Mark Andrew. He presented those within Christianity who oppose his active homosexual relationship as somehow unenlightened.

That is extremely sick. The churches in his area should either vote him out of his position or leave the denomination.

Italy gets a former topless model as a minister in its new overnment, an extremely beautiful woman by the way, and American Episcopalianism has a pathetic old fairy bishop about to marry his sissy male lover. Things have gone terribly wrong in this country.

Bishop Robinson needs only to take the cellophane off of his Holy Bible to know God's will for him is in this matter.

More specifically, Romans 1:25-27 tells us that same-sex sexual relationships are a consequence of idolatry. In other words, such relationships are a consequence of disobeying the 1ST COMMANDMENT, a major aspect of the GREATEST COMMANDMENT, to love the jealous God with all your being.

Homosexuals need to keep in mind, however, that the good news of the gospel is not about how God despises same-sex sexual relationships. In fact, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 indicates that certain members of that church had been slaves to such relationships but had been cleansed in Jesus' name. So these former homosexuals had evidently repented and accepted God's grace to straighten their lives out.

I've felt not so much that Robinson was appointed bishop and Katharine Jefferts Schori was appointed presiding bishop as a part of the natural growth of the Episcopal church but rather that they were appointed at us. Their elevation seems more a statement to the world than an act of church management.

My former church is promoting social change above salvation.

Not likely, since the churches in his area voted him into the position to begin with.

Robinson is an instructive illustration of the personality disorder which underlies the "Gay lifestyle"--histrionic narcissism. That persuasive elements of the contemporary culture endorse and affirm this kind of pathological conduct is a telling indicator of societal decline.

The Roman Catholics are looking pretty good. There are slim pickings here in flyover country.

I left a long time ago Jacque. It wasn’t so much an act as inaction. Dad married a woman in another denomination, Evangelical Free. After leaving home for a real life I didn’t do church for a number of years. I married Ann 29 years ago in the First Christian Church of Columbia, Mo. We joined a congregation of that denomination here in the Maryland burbs 9 years ago. Yes, that was 20 years of essentially nothing. Sometimes nothing tells you much about the value of a given something.

The two could just hop in a car,get onto I-95 or Route 3 and be in the Gay State in an hour or less.Upon arrival, they could actually get "married".Their failure to do so shows (as if we needed proof) that they,in fact, plan to continue to "live in sin".

Not that either of them *believe* in sin.Or in God.

One more thing Jacque - my daughter is Roman Catholic and happy with most of the tenets. The Pope is properly anti-war, but much else is digestible by conservatives.

CANA, AMIA, Southern Cone, Reformed Episcopal, Anglican Church in America, Anglican Catholic Church, Anglican Province of America, Anglican Province of Christ the King...

LCMS, Roman Catholic (Anglican Use), Roman Catholic, Orthodox, PCA...

Your options may be broader than you think.

I would love, for once
to see a formal definition of the
Duties and responsibilities of a
Bishop of the Episcopal Church;

Specifically with regard to the
teaching of scripture,
correcting of heretical teachings,
and spiritual warfare against the
works of Satan and other
works of Evil on this Earth

This would greatly clarify
my understanding of the
“Works” of this Ordained Bishop
of the Episcopal Church, and the
"Wisdom" of his Superiors

I've been going to a breakaway Anglican Church since moving to Virginia and I have to say it's despicable to see how Katharine Schori has acted in such a dictatorial fashion towards the break away churches.

The Episcopal Church has become an abomination.

I guess they won’t use the Anglican marriage ceremony.

DEARLY beloved, we are gathered together here in the sight of God, and in the face of this congregation, to join together this Man and this Woman in holy Matrimony; which is an honourable estate, instituted of God in the time of man’s innocency, signifying unto us the mystical union that is betwixt Christ and his Church; which holy estate Christ adorned and beautified with his presence, and first miracle that he wrought, in Cana of Galilee; and is commended of Saint Paul to be honourable among all men: and therefore is not by any to be enterprised, nor taken in hand, unadvisedly, lightly, or wantonly, to satisfy men’s carnal lusts and appetites, like brute beasts that have no understanding; but reverently, discreetly, advisedly, soberly, and in the fear of God; duly considering the causes for which Matrimony was ordained.

First, It was ordained for the procreation of children, to be brought up in the fear and nurture of the Lord, and to the praise of his holy Name.

Secondly, It was ordained for a remedy against sin, and to avoid fornication; that such persons as have not the gift of continency might marry, and keep themselves undefiled members of Christ’s body.
