Washington, DC -- A leading pro-life Catholic is feuding with supporters of Barack Obama who claim to be Catholic but join the candidate in violating the Church's teachings by strongly supporting abortion and embryonic stem cell research. Catholic League President Bill Donahue says true Catholics would oppose Obama.

Donahue began the exchange last week by issuing a press release calling on Obama to dissolve his National Advisory Council because the members of the panel and pro-abortion.

Since I never bash Catholics, brethren or not, and am not gay, you must have me mistaken for someone else.

With Donohue I only responded to his vicious attack (which he got, as it turned out when I tracked it down, from a gay weblog).

everytime you repeat something which a Catholic tells you is NOT the case about the Catholic faith you bear false witness - unless you personally know it to be a fact.

Calling you gay when you say you are not is no diferent than your telling folks that Catholics worship Mary or the Pope as other schismatics do.

Do you worship Mary? Did you ever notice that she's one of the few people prophesied in the Bible?

Surprising!

Now, do you worship the Pope? (I'd be really surprised since I've only met a few Catholics who were screwy enough to think they maybe they were supposed to).

So, what's your point? I caught Donohue with his britches down around his ankles trying to run with the big dogs, and there it was, BS from gay weblogs (and they were easy to tell they were gay because they self-identified as "gay").

Someone should do fact checking for Donohue.

BTW, his errors had nothing to do with him being Catholic, just in his being stupid enough to trust others to give him the truth.

We'll you'd better believe I'll never mislead him.

I love my Grandmother (deceaced 40yrs) for all her obediant qualities to God.

I reflect and draw from the memories of her influence in my life.
I have a portrait of her in my quiet room in my home.

I do not worship my Grandmother.
It is that simple.
Or do you enjoy debating for pleasure.

Why didn’t Pa. support Rick Santorum who was Pro Life in words and deeds?

Because pro-life PA voters were duped into thinking Casey Jr. was like Casey Sr. (Not that I was a big fan of Casey Sr. - he was pro-life, but very liberal.) Plus Santorum was "swiftboated" by the media - he stuck his foot in his mouth a few times and it got blown way out of proportion by the liberal media in PA who hated him.

This isn’t a matter of conservative, republican, democrat or whatever party, it’s Catholicism and life. Abortion is non-negotiable. A lot of folks skipped over that teaching and it’s in their interest to be informed... not for credentials or politics, but for their souls.

It is what it is... if they’re obstinate, they can walk.

All I can do is pray for them.

Question. Is this thread about gay websites or did I miss something, I thought it was about abortion. Do you have a comment on that?

Obama’s Catholic Committee: The Lineup

After a conference call today announcing the launch of its Catholic National Advisory Council, the Obama camp released the council’s full roster. It’s a long and impressive llist of elected officials, scholars, and activists. The Obama camp is treating Catholics as Hillary Clinton’s base—in Pennsylvania, they may be—and knows it has to go all out to eat into it. From today’s call, it sounds like many of these folks will be out stumping for Obama in Pennsylvania and some of the other remaining primary states. That will matter a lot more than the press the campaign gets from today’s announcement. Here’s the list:

Senator Bob Casey
Representative Patrick Murphy (PA-08)
Former Congressman Tim Roemer, President of the Center for National Policy
Governor Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas
Governor Tim Kaine of Virginia

Sharon Daly, Social Justice Advocate, Knoxville, MD
Richard Gaillardetz, Murray/Bacik Professor of Catholic Studies, University of Toledo
Grant Gallicho, Associate Editor, Commonweal Magazine
Margaret Gannon, IHM, A Sister of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Scranton, PA
Don Guter, Judge Advocate General of the Navy (2000-2002); Rear Admiral, Judge Advocate General’s Corps, U.S. Navy (Ret.), Pittsburgh, PA

Mary Wright, Inter-Faith Liaison, Louisville, KY

National Leadership Committee

Governor Jim Doyle of Wisconsin
Former Senator Majority Leader Tom Daschle

Since when did our Catholics become as sensitive as the typical F(lds) defender?

Your response is absolutely ridiculous. If you people would provide Donohue support he wouldn't make the errors he does.

He was clearly out of line attacking any Republican candidates or their supporters. In doing that he aided the forces of abortion.

I'm not sensitive. I'm just stating a metaphysical certitude.

Your problem is obvious.

Barack Obama just got endorsed by NARAL!

Does this confirm the fact that Senator Casey Jr. is now the official spokeman of the Pro Abortion Movement in Pennsylvania?
