Black Community Is Increasingly Protective of Obama
The Washington Post ^ | Darryl Fears

Posted on 05/09/2008 8:02:14 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

In black America, oh, how the mighty have fallen.

Bill Clinton is no longer revered as the "first black president." Tavis Smiley's rapid-fire commentaries on a popular radio show have been silenced. And the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., self-described defender of the black church, has been derided by many on the Web as an old man who needs to "step off."

They all landed in the black community's doghouse after being viewed as endangering Sen. Barack Obama's chances of being elected president. And the community's desire to protect the first African American ever to be in this position may only grow with his win in North Carolina and his close loss in Indiana this week.

"I have parents who are still living who are very enthusiastic about Obama," said Valerie Grim, the chair of Indiana University's Department of African American and African Diaspora Studies. "They live in Mississippi. For a time, my parents couldn't vote, and when they could, their only choice was a white person.

"This means more than just saying there's a black person on the ticket. It represents the things they had been denied. It's being able to see the unbelievable, that the impossible might be possible. It represents for them a new day, a new opportunity to see that black people can contribute, on the ultimate level, to the social order."

Given such sentiment, it has not taken much for other public figures to move from icon to pariah.

When Bill Clinton called Obama's position on Iraq a "fairy tale" in_New Hampshire, "I think black people felt betrayed," said Andrea Plaid, a blogger who writes under the pen name the Cruel Secretary. African Americans continued to regard Clinton highly even_after_he_was_impeached for lying under oath. "And you turn around and do this to us?" Plaid said.

The problem is that it isn't just blacks who are protecting Obama.
Its the entire MSM and half of the whites as well.

Watching Hannity interview people on the street about Wright and Obama, all of the whites except one were dismissive of the 20 year close relationship between them.
Totally closed minds.

When Bill Clinton called Obama's position on Iraq a "fairy tale" in_New Hampshire, "I think black people felt betrayed,"...

Blacks should have felt "betrayed" when the Clinton folks put out that crap about black women being afraid to vote for Obama because they thought he might get shot. That was the ugliest rumor of the season. Much worse than the "fairy tale" stuff...

They say, “No, no, no. That’s not why. It’s because of the economy.”
Yeah right!

In just the social aspect alone, MA no doubt has the deepest racial/class/ethnic divide I’ve ever seen. I’ve never seen a level of intolerance even half as bad as anywhere else I’ve lived around the country.

http://kennethelamb.blogspot.com/2008/02/barak-obama-questions-about-ethnic.html

Here is the truth about Mr. Obama’s name, and his father’s ancestors:

True Negro tribal members of western Kenya where his father was born have Christian names, not Arabic. His father’s decision to name him with an Arabic name is a matter of his father establishing his ethnic identity in Africa - it is done deliberately to separate him from the African tribes. He may live among them, but he is not one of them. His father’s message is that he is Arabic, not Negro.

Many will find these truths unsettling. I’m often asked, “But I thought his father was Kenyan. How could Mr. Obama not be African-American, how could his ethnic composition be so Arabic?”

The definitive clue to that answer is to look at his name, his father’s name, and the names of all his ancestors on his father’s side. They are all Arabic.

Researching his roots reveal that on his father’s side, he is descended from Arab slave traders. They operated under an extended grant from Queen Victoria, who gave them the right to continue the slave trade in exchange for helping the British defeat the Madhi Army in southern Sudan and the Upper Nile region. Funny how circular is history; now the British again face the Madhi Army, albeit this time Shiite, not Sunni, as in nineteenth century Sudan.

But telling America’s black community that while their ancestors were breaking the shackles of slavery, Mr. Obama’s ancestors were placing those shackles upon their wrists would hardly play as an Oprah Winfrey best-seller.

Being the son of a poor Kenyan goat-herder plays much better than being the son of a highly placed Arab-African who operated at the top of the Kenyan government following his education at Columbia. You see, even the way he portrays his father is a lie...

If what you say is true (all the blacks and half the whites, plus the MSM are for Obama), and that continues, then McCain doesn’t have a chance.

If Obama is elected with a Dem Congress and new Supreme Court Justices, it’s gonna be tough for us non-minorities for a long time.

How many more centuries is it going to take for Black people to grow up? We could have been had a first POTUS who was Black (and I mean Black, not half white half arabic) if we had pushed Colin Powell. I’m so pissed off at my peoples’ ignorance.

It is absolutely jaw-dropping stupifying that America should even CONSIDER electing Baraq Hussin Obama to the presidency of the United States.

.........................................................

Quote from Barack Obama’s book, Dreams Of My Father:
“THE PERSON WHO MADE ME PROUDEST OF ALL, THOUGH, WAS MY [half brother], ROY..HE CONVERTED TO ISLAM”.

From ‘Dreams of my Father’, “IN INDONESIA, I SPEND TWO YEARS AT A MUSLIM SCHOOL” “..I STUDIED THE KORAN..”

From ‘Audacity of Hope: “LOLO (Obama’s step father) FOLLOWED ISLAM....”I LOOKED TO LOLO FOR GUIDANCE”.

From ‘The Audacity Of Hope, “I WILL STAND WITH THE MUSLIMS SHOULD THE POLITICAL WINDS OF WAR SHIFT IN AN UGLY DIRECTION..”

From The Audacity Of Hope, “WE ARE NO LONGER JUST A CHRISTIAN NATION, we are also a Jewish nation, a MUSLIM NATION, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers.”

HATRED OF WHITES:
From Dreams of My Father, “ I FOUND A SOLACE IN NURSING A PERVASIVE SENSE OF GRIEVANCE AND ANIMOSITY AGAINST MY MOTHER’S RACE”. Barack Hussein Obama

From ‘Dreams of my Father’, “The emotion between the races could never be pure, even love was tarnished by the desire to find in the other some element that was missing in ourselves. Whether we sought out our demons or salvation, the other race (WHITE) would always remain just that: menacing, alien, and apart.” Barack Hussein Obama

From Dreams Of My Father: “That hate hadn’t gone away,” he wrote, BLAMING “WHITE PEOPLE — some CRUEL, some IGNORANT, sometimes a single face, sometimes just a faceless image of a system claiming power over our lives.” Barack Hussein Obama

From ‘Dreams Of My Father’, “There were enough of us on campus to constitute a tribe, and when it came to hanging out many of us chose to function like a tribe, staying close together, traveling in packs,” he wrote. “It remained necessary to prove which side you were on,to show your LOYALTY TO THE BLACK MASSES, TO STRIKE OUT and name names” Barack Hussein Obama

THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!
A WHITE CANDIDATE WOULD HAVE BEEN CRUCIFIED FOR MAKING SUCH STATEMENTS!!!

Wow, what utter balderdash!

So the “black community” wants us to believe they need Hussein to make history to make up for slavery?

Nonsense, 98% of the “black community” are libs, they want their goodies.

Otherwise they would have been excited about Condi, Thomas, Powell, and voted for numerous other Black Republicans who have been running. Instead they treated them like sh*t!

What liars libs are, do they ever stop?

If you ever have the time to expand on that, I would keep the information along with as much detail as you care to provide.

I am researching for a book on Mass initially focusing on the areas of Sturbridge and Southbridge which I visited last year for some time to do historical research.

I have a trove of old perfectly preserved pictures of turn of the Century (AD 1900+) of the area from family albums.
I am extremely interested in your statement and any particulars.

I have about 1000 pages of observations that need to be compiled and many photos and such to leave with the Southbridge Historical society and various genealogy repositories.

A point of interest is how exactly the area identifies with the photos of the area 100 years ago.
The book is actually intended to be political in nature and I may contact the Mass state forum on FR this summer to see if there is any info there.
Thank you very much. - bill

Black Community Is Increasingly Protective of Obama

So, after all the practice with the Democrats, the "black community" is finally jumping the shark over someone who doesn't give a rat's ass for them and, if he could have had as great an effect with his white half, would have gone that way?

Well, looking at the past demographic breakdowns, no Democrat presidential candidate has ever garnered 50% of the white vote; the closest being Bill who was only down 3% to Dole and 1% to GW respectively.

“This year, whites who do not have college degrees lean slightly toward the GOP, ... with 43 percent calling themselves Republicans and 38 percent considering themselves Democrats.”

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2013862/posts

Yes, we are in real trouble.
Obama is not going to be a pushover and he will have tons of cash that McCain and the RNC can only dream about, total backing of an unfettered MSM, and historical trends all going for him.

Add to the mix the near certainty that McCain is going to piss on or piss off much of his base on a regular basis (IMO) as the season unfolds, the fact that McCain sucking up all of the RNC cash meaning that all other GOP candidates will be largely unfunded, the GOP’s strange inability to see why these things are so, and there is a real possibility of a disaster come November.

I am targeting individual candidates for support, but I am under no illusions.
I fear for the Republic.

I have some time off due to minor surgury, so it'll be a pleasure for me to see if I can come up with something a little more formal for you research, though I don't know much about the Sturbridge/Southbridge areas particularly. I'm just a few miles from Boston. What I do know is that MA has been experiencing something of a population exodus these last few years. There's also something of a "consumer exodus" that pertains most especially to border towns due to constant legislation being passed to raise money for state debts (which targets certain people in the population over and over again). I think Southbridge would fall into that border catagory. As I said, I'll see what I can come up with. Anything in particular you may be interested in along those lines, just let me know. I will say, however, that the history here can more than make up for many other shortfalls otherwise. Very interesting stuff.

I’ve never seen a level of intolerance even half as bad as anywhere else I’ve lived around the country.

Exactly. Many liberals think it is perfectly fine to vote for somebody simply because of the color of their skin. Look at the Black vote for Obama - over 90% voted for a Marxist tool only because he is black.

And yet, many *white* Democrats (ESPECIALLY in Mass) will not vote for him precisely *because* he is Black. I don't see the difference between the two groups but I can guarantee you that this will upset the self-proclaimed Black leadership.

Truly the only color-blind group of voters are the Conservatives.

Rush is dead-on when he says Osama will never get elected. Because he knows this to be true!

Personally I don't think the Thighmaster can get elected either. Her baggage goes FAR beyond that that lies on her thighs.

He’s only about half conservative (socially just left of center, fiscally farther right); this puts him pretty much in the middle of America, where most people are politically. But he had the support of a number of Republicans, and he wasn’t nearly as divisive as BO and his garbage. But Black people are so brain-washed into the hating Republicans, that he didn’t have their support. IMO, he’s more “black” than BO, he’s not Marxist, and fairly rational.
